The Show Off Your Tattoo Thread

I am disappoint.

My koi took three hours. But I had lots of lollies, minieggs and a sammich so it was okay :)

Blatantly taking in some rustlers :D

Did you just go down for a consultation or did you expect to walk in and have a 3 hour piece done :p

The person knew what I wanted, but she was caught up with another client beforehand, so had to reschedule :(

Just a bit. Not too bothered, as the person I'm getting it done with is technically still in training (but her work is better than some of the other people there :D) so I'm getting it done for the princely sum of a tenner :D

Am thinking of getting my first one done sometime soon, however I would like it in Brown instead of the usual black. Sort of like Henna coloured.

I've only spoken to one tattooist who advised against it saying that it would go patchy and would need outlining in black at least, gooling though seems to throw up confusion around this. Does anyone know or have one that can advise ?

Thanks

I'm not sure why he advised it would need outlining in black, you can outline in any colour you want to. My wife has some lillies which have no black outline at all, they are fine.

I can't see how colouring it all brown is any different from it being black.

How does the colour of it change how much you bleed?!

As for patchy no tattoo is perfect mat black like it's painted on, I don't see the problem myself, but then i'm not a tattooist.

I'll ask mine about this at the weekend. Googling it doesn't come up with any of those issues, plenty seem to have it.

Bleeding and going patchy were the reasons he gave..

All tattoos fade over time obviously. I reckon the thinking is that although black fades, brown will fade more noticeably and may not look that great in a few years. Everyones skin is different, i have brown and yellow in some of mine and they still look great, i know people whos yellow have faded to a horrible colour. Maybe he is just trying to stop your tattoo from looking rubbish in a few years, after all, its his name on the line as the tattooist.

Sorry, colour bleeding around the edge of the tattoo, ie becoming ill defined and going patchy as in fading unevenly..

First google result for brown tattoo

I'm getting the itch again, it's a surprise I've lasted this long. My favourite artist has moved up Newcastle way so some trips further North are gonna be needed soon! In the meantime I think I'm gonna let the new apprentice at the studio attack me, she seems a more than capable artist!

I think I offended someone in the other Tattoo thread, jeez are guys who do this to yourself really that sensitive when someone tells you look ridiculous. It's not cool, it's not attractive it's just plain bizarre why you think painting yourself is a good idea.

people are entitled to their own tastes and opinions mate, fully respect yours and the view you have... many don't share it though.

This is clearly a pro-tattoo thread. Go and create your own anti-tattoo thread if you deem it so necessary to point out how 'ridiculous' it is.
