The Sims 4

can't play... try to enter a lot and get kicked back to the "choose a lot" screen (or whatever it's called). I also get a blank message box pop up which is always helpful!

*sigh* what a waste of money

So glad today i found out you can run the game twice at same time, One has been playing in offline mode for a few good hours no issues i just simply turned wifi off on the laptop and logged into origin in offline mode booted up all issues.

It's okay, but considering the time it's been in development it could have been so much better. Seems as though they've just thrown together a new Sims game because fans wanted one rather than them wanting to make a new one. Shame, as I've put hours into 3.

Lack of world building killed it for me

When its in the £10 region like SimCity perhaps I'll bite, hopefully by then there will be a better idea of just how badly EA intend to DLC milk it as well

But you can build worlds? At least when I edited a spare lot earlier you could. I demolished an entire house and evicted the people living there, just so I could buy the empty plot of land.

You can also change the lot type too. (I haven't tried this yet though, but I;ve seen the option.)

Edit: Just tried, and yes you can change a lot type and can build your own lots (Bar, nightclub, Library, Gym etc etc)

Fixed the problem with not being able to play eventually.

First hour or so was a bit annoying in places... Having to load every time I visit a neighbour is ridiculous and a royal pita. I also find the house builder worse than in Sims 3. It's unnecessarily hard to pick up a door inside the house, the camera angles are a pain and I can't seem to pick up a door when I have the walls down.

The hook for me (aside from the general gameplay) is the creative aspect, building worlds/landscapes from the ground up, this game lacks it, and amongst other things even for a base game there is a fair amount of content missing, which based on how they approached TS3 (loads of expansions, stuff packs, and a store) suggests they intend to milk it harder

I'm not anywhere suggesting it is a bad game, to the contrary, it is ok, its just not good enough to make me want to buy it tomorrow.

Further down the road I will probably pick it up, theres just nothing that makes me think "i must have it now"

been watching a few streamers play this on twitch in the background while I've been playing other games. looks pretty fun.... but extent of playability.... seems after a week or two most of the streamers have already done much that there is to do in the game and losing the excitement to carry on playing.

hell... even just from watching I'm wondering...well.... would I even last a week? :p

think I'll wait like hairyfeet until it's £10 or there abouts :p or maybe just get a different sims game :p

My gf hates the Sims 4, and is happily playing away on the sims2 instead...

My GF hasn't been bothering to play it and she's had 2 weeks off to play it in, the game is a great basis for a really good Sims and with expansions or stuff packs will be quite good (at whatever cost that will be).

However right now and for a while is missing everything decent & fun, so there is hardly any point playing it as the only new things are multi-tasking and mood swings.
