*** The SKY F1 2012 Coverage Thread ***

Yeah I was suggesting the FOM need to decide rather than just plonking it in regardless on lap 3.

Ahh ok, sorry, misunderstood.

There are plenty of situations when the FOM feed director has made some questionable choices on what to show. Does anyone know if its the same guy/team each race, or do they use local directors?

It always used to be local at least - I remember spending entire Brazilian GPs watching Massa (for example) trundle around in the midfield in his Sauber, just because that's who the director wanted to focus on...

FOM have been producing the world feed since 2007 iirc rather than the terrible 'host broadcaster' coverage we used to get.

twas excellent back in the day of schumacher x 3 (ralf was a bit fat tbh) slightly fast nicholas and whoever random german filled the grid. more time spent on slowwwwwwmooooossss than the race.

Sitting waiting for the sky installer, looking forward to china already. I had sky go for the Xbox but my Internet connection went down so couldn't watch it anyway.

As much as I prefer the bbc crew I can't be doing with this highlights rubbish and trying to dodge the result. I can use sky go at work to watch the races as well.

Errr, thats the world feed they are using. It's FOM thats replaying the start. The same as the BBC used and it happened then too.

Doh! I'm sure it wasn't like this last year though. Maybe we've just had fairly interesting starts for more laps..

What package did you get?

HD with entertainment and entertainment plus. £17.62 a month for the first year! Even if we hate it or decide we don't like sky enough to carry on at the full price the recorder and equipment would have cost us that. I think that's just over £200 for the year.

I will most likely get hooked though, especially with uk gold :D

Just set loads to record :D

250gb box though, doesn't sound like a lot? How many hours recording is that, can't remember what my humax pvr is.

It varies wildly depending on if its HD or SD, and the HD quality varies too.

The official figure is up to 60 hours of HD. A full race program (so around 4 hours) of F1 took up about 10% on mine.
