As for the time for unprotected sex. It's a month. The 12months is in very very rare cases, the tube finds a way to rejoin itself. That's why they recommend a 2nd test. But more to cover their own butts. Cos someone sued the doc saying you said it would only be a month. I remember asking the doc, how many people have a hard time with it. He said 5%. So 1 in 20 end up having a hard time with it. Like more pain than expected, slight loss of drive etc. 19 out of 20 have absolutely no issue with it whatsoever.

Also in terms of the private healthcare industry, they WANT you to have it. Cos its an out patient procedure, that saves the insurance industry lots and lots of money. All i had to pay was my $40 co-pay. Kids cost insurance companies lots of money, so does having a women's tubes tied.

Try using google, even the NHS website mentions a 10% complication rate and there are comments from people who have been left in agonising pain. The fact that your doctor didn't warn you shows negligence.

lol who in the uk today pays for anything when they can get it for free? Now more so than ever? Never heard of the phrase 'out for nowt'?

You can believe what you want, but the facts speak for themselves. Condom manufactures like Durex are big business and sell virtually everywhere, so obviously a lot of people are buying contraception and not getting it on the NHS... The NHS supplying condoms is another problem in itself, that money could be used for cancer patients rather than someones sex life.

Had it done probably 13ish years ago. No regrets, in fact I'm really glad I did it.

I went into the docs, signed some stuff and got changed. I was asked before I went to shave it all good. He injected my sack, which didn't really hurt, then made a ~5mm cut.

With something like a crochet hook he pulled a tube through the hole and injected it. Then (and I didn't watch this bit) cut/tied and popped it back through and repeated. So no injections into my nuts. All the tugging did make me feel a bit sick at the time.

A stitch or two and we were done. Wore a jock-strap support thing for a week and then had two appointments to go to the hospital and knock one out so they could test it.

Really didn't hurt but was a bit uncomfortable sitting down in the days after.

The only side affect, and I think it might be because of the snip but can't be sure, is I seem to have a sensitive nerve under one of the bones in my ar5e. Only feel it twinge when I sit on a cycle in that position. Boy it makes me jump!
 
Well the time has finnaly come. 2pm tommorow both vasectomy and ingunial hernia repair in a oner, genuinly craping my pants right now :( Cya on tother side (i hope lol) :)
 
HELL NO.

My child producing days may be over (as in I don't want another) but ill just wait for the wife to hit the menopause. Much less painful than having my nuts messed with.
 
I had it done about 3 years ago, no pain at all, just a little uncomforable for a few days afterwards.

I came very close to having it at the ripe age of late teens! 18 I think? Can't remember.

In the army, out on excessive. Evasive fire/retaliation fire drills up a hill covered in brambles and stinging nettles in North Yorkshire (Catterick to be exact). Ordered to fire, move, dive... So you fire off 2 rounds, move at a zig zag then dive to the floor, fire off another 2 rounds and repeat.

I dove down, hit my balls... Nothing of it. Carried on. Back at barracks, walk into the CO's office. "Sir, I need to see medical, my right nut is the size of an orange" "********, drop trou"...

I think his expression was "Sweet Jesus, it's a babies head!" and drove me him self to the medic center. Anyway, I split my right nut on a flint stone. I had injections into the ball for 3 days to drain the excess fluid for the swelling. No man should ever endure that pain! It was looking bad, might have had to have the snip and be gone with it.

But, it went down. It's still sore every now and then and 'functions', thankfully the left is fine haha.

Anyway, my dad has had the snip! For reasons I don't know, but he fires blanks and is a randy sod or so I'm told by my step mum!

So snip away chap!

Makes perfect sense. Prevents unwanted pregnancies and sexually transmitted diseases. Both of those have a higher cost than condoms that are cheap.

Not doing so and diverting the funds to treat cancer wouldn't make an impact on cancer treatment and would have a big impact on the costs of treating STDs and so on.
