Has anyone who bought a mac in the last month or so got a free upgrade out of Apple? It's just I've bought 3...!
I never understand this type of expectation (usually presented more forcefully!). It's not as if you were tricked - you got exactly what you paid for.

Just been and got a copy from Apple Highcross in Leicester.

Rather different from when Leopard was launched. Just a sign by the door - no t-shirt etc.

Wouldn't expect anything like that for a £25 upgrade to be honest.

I've got a family member going to the Apple Store later to pick me up a copy (had sort of planned this weekend for wiping) - hopefully they don't have a ridiculously small number of copies which disappear in no time.

I just spent 19:30 waiting on the phone to get through to the Belfast store. About 4 minutes of which was just the phone ringing and no one picking up. Strangely, the 3 calls that were ahead of me seemed to be sorted out rather sharpish.

Gave up in the end, embarrassingly bad.

Well I've just been to the Apple Store and bought it, although I'm now going away for the weekend so won't get a chance to play with it until Sunday night / Monday.

One thing that did surprise me is that the guy in the Apple Store said that iLife and iWorks '08 weren't compatible.

Can anyone back this up?

Cheers,

Panzer

Anyone know if the purple shirt store will have snow leopard in stock today?

They are usually slow for macintosh software down here but thinking i may pop over there and see if they have it.

Well I messed my first install up *I restored some stuff from Time machine and it hard reset and from then on was flaky as hell) so I'm starting a clean install - again!!!

How many times today?

Anyone have this on an older Core Duo laptop? Is their any improvements on that? I know 64bit isn't available on it :(!

Well if you're holding off to see then I'll likely put it on my core duo macbook pro this weekend, I expect it'll see a nice benefit even without 64bit (and I want the quicktime and finder updates anyway...)
