The Star Wars: Battlefront Benchmarks Thread

Yeah, you noticed eh? :D on mass they always find a way to be annoying in these sorts of games.

The game will be dead come march or thereabouts next year, the gameplay has no depth to it, you've pretty much seen it and done it all after a couple of rounds.

Played this on a mates Origin account for a few hours today and all I can say is I'm glad I didn't pay £30+ for this, What a waste of time, Outside of the graphics and sound this is complete tosh.

-No real single player outside of the boring survival
-No space battles
-No ship to ship
-A lot less heroes
-A lot less vehicles
-No galactic conquest

All of the above was in Battlefront 2 as well as multiplayer which came out 10 years ago last month.

A proper single player campaign that could also of been played cooperatively would have been a big plus but nope, According to EA people in general don't like single player campaigns anymore.....

It's a game ive thought about buying. Now im not interested in single player as i only buy games to play online. Hence ive put an awful lot of time into bf3/4. Never played the sp part in either. Is it worth buying guys for mp. Built a new system, new gpu and an ROG swift monitor. Great combo, but the games im playing are a bit old and seems like the hardware is not being utilised properly. Me being a big fps fan probably doesnt help either.

If you can I'd try and play it for a few hours on a mates account first before buying.

I went in with high hopes and 3 hours later after playing a bit of survival and online came out with a definite no buy answer.

If you can live with/not affected by Dice's average standard of "netcode" and cheap gimmicks its not a bad game and visually excellent, gameplay can be a blast but ultimately its a shallow mockery of the game it could have been with a developer who actually did something other than make 4 pretty maps and threw in some gameplay elements at the last minute.

Having the Swift and G-SYNC really came into its own here as given the visuals I can live with the 56-80fps I tend to get with ultra settings.

'Modernisation' in other words cutting development costs.

Campaign mode is quite expensive and time consuming, altho a lot of the Campaign environment is used in MP a lot of it also isn't.

Then there are script writers, actors not just for voice over but to play the main characters, everything is acted out by actors and then animated.

The characters in BF4 are believable because everything you see there is an animated version of real people acting the scenes out, and they ain't bad actors, not cheap, its half a movie.

With Starwars you have all sorts of problems with Disney wanting to approve every second of the Campaign mission as to make the trademark look good, if its not upto their high standard its not happening.

I would have loved a Starwars Campaign mission but its a big ask.

I tried it on a relatives system mate, lesser cpu and gpu than mine. i7 950 at 4.2ghz with a 670. Lots of details turned down at 1080p. I gotta admit, it looked pretty good even on lowered settings. And my own setup would run it much higher and better looking. Yes i like a game to look good, but if the gameplay isnt there that all goes out the window. Im kinda bored of the few games i play now and looking for something that would hold my interest for a year or so. Might stop me upgrading/sidegrading hardware for a bit lol.:D

I'm a huge Star Wars fan and this didn't hold my attention for more than 3 hours.

As another gent above said, Once you've play 1 round you've played it all :(

With the 980 Ti and the Swift it will run gloriously but the content just isn't there, It's a shadow of what it could have been in all honesty and again I'm a huge Star Wars fan and after having put in around 600 hours into Battlefront 2 this was a huge disappointment.

There actually is a ship to ship mode, controls are so floaty feeling i've never bothered with it.

No that's in atmosphere dog fighting by picking up tokens which makes it feel unauthentic and cheap, I'm talking about actually being on a Star Destroyer or Rebel Cruiser, Running to the hanger bay and jumping into a Tie Fighter, Interceptor, Bomber, Lambda Shuttle etc... and flying to the next ship to take it out from the inside or bombing it from the outside.

This was actually planned for Battlefront 3 and footage was available, right before it was scrapped following Disney's acquisition.

Loved doing this, was a great mode loads of fun. Fingers crossed EA/Dice see the error of there ways and we get it as DLC.
