Its called entertainment, doctors, scientists and engineers, no different to cleaners in Tesco. Outside their own inflated egos there are two differences, pay and their effect on everyday life. The former being well payed and the latter having the greatest effect on our everyday lifes along with entertainment.
Asia academic success is all about supplying the western entertainment industry. Only scientific marvels in my life are all based on entertaining me, name one thing that effects my life that is dependant on academic success, asia or other wise?

Came into this thread expecting bitter and jealous peeps, expectations met.
While I dislike TOWIE etc... You can't hold his fame or his money against him, if you guys could use your looks to make money you would. It's a simple fact of life that looks are more important than anything else, you can argue for intelligence and wit but the truth is only money can combat ugliness in the eyes of women. There is a reason why we don't all have supermodel girlfriends.

pretty much anything you've come into contact with, even the clothes you wear have been engineered at some level by someone.
So the medical procedure that allowed you to be born with a reduced chance of dieing form child related sources or the imunizations you had as a child where for your entertainment?
Academics have a greater impact on your life than entertainment, in times of great turmoil, its the engineers and scientists that everyone turns to.

All based on work prefected thousands of years back by some of the most un academic people to walk the earth. To be an engineer one doesn't need to be an academic, one just needs to be intelligent. You know the difference? Intelligence or chance uncovers a new idea, academics mimic. Thats not to say one can't be intelligent and academic, but being academic in itself does not make one intelligent.
No, prefectly healthy by virtue of natural selection and making good choices. The same thing people did before imunization and hospital births. As for imunization, that in itself has to be applyed on mass to stop the weak dieing. Had your cold and flu imunization of late?
Again no, the last great turmoil to effect this island would have been the potato famine. Were where the engineers and scientists? They didn't solve that as they couldn't, its no different now than back then. The planet gets warmer or colder, the buffins huff and puff and never do anything. Potato blight is still here, buy a bag spuds and check for yourself. Have they put an end to MRSA? Turmoil and all that..
