I went over the car again this afternoon and it seems the chip was actually dirt and it had left the car by the time I'd got home.
No obvious scrapes or bumps but I couldn't really check the car today as the pick up location was in a multi story car park so it was basically dark and its basically poured with rain all day. No doubt there is plenty of pre-installed swirl marks under all the water.
I'm getting it booked in with a detailer for ceramic coating in the new year, I think I am going to avoid washing it until then.
The drive home was decent, auto pilot had calibrated by the time I got through the Dartford tunnel and I spent the rest of the near 100 mile drive home on auto pilot. The car had 40% charge when I picked it up, they suggested to jump on the supercharger there if needed but I knew better as the battery would have been stone cold. The car suggested I could have made it home on what I had but that would have meant driving pretty slowly and that isn't me. I stopped at the Colchester supercharger (V2) for a charge, got their at 7%, the car nicked loads of energy warming up the battery but when I got there it maxed out a V2 charger.
The auto wipers didn't really work until the autopilot has finished calibrating after that they were pretty decent. Auto pilot did well on the drive home, no complaints there. Not really much else to say which hasn't already been said about a Model 3, the launch off the lights in the wet was solid
, I'm very happy with it overall.
It's now charging off the granny lead at a especially glacial 6A from the garage. The garage runs off the main ring from a fused spur, which also has a fridge freezer and a load of Christmas lights plugged into.
Have fun tomorrow
