Guys can someone give me a tldr

Did I dodge a bullet not getting the 3070?

Is the mid range 6800xt any good for 100hz 1440 ultra wide

Will my 4770k cause a bottle neck

This forum is like a news feed. How is anyone supposed to make a decision

The answer to all your questions is yes.

Up until last week, they were selling around that price pretty much instantly for a second hand item. I've not been looking lately so it may have changed.
I'm planning on grabbing a GPU this year then maybe doing CPU next year.

Looks like last one sold for 550.

No warranty obviously.

Vs 650usd.. Which is probably 650 gbp.

That's not worth the saving really

AMD's Radeon RX 6000 series will support today's ray tracing titles, with the only exceptions being those which utilise proprietary APIs and extensions

This is why you do not use ray-traced benchmarks that originally supported nvidia hardware. Because it will be used as a litmus to say that AMD Ray tracing doesn't work. Lying that its "open standard" knowing good and well that it is proprietary specifically for NVIDIA.

6800XT is looking like 3080 performance. Think he is getting mixed up with the 6800 which is 2080ti/3070 performance.

I was referring to the 6800xt
My other option (price depends) is the 2080ti

The 6800 isn't worth getting. It seems to sit in no man's land.
Not got enough over the old gen to warrant the price. Too close to the xt in price but too far in performance

For me it's either the xt or an old card.

I'm be trying my luck on launch day

My f5 finger ready and 3 browser windows side by side in different retailers

I know right? :(
Is that day we can order?

I'm soon gonna turn into that kid.... you know who... "Are we there yet? are we there yet? are we there yet? are we there yet? are we there yet? are we there yet? are we there yet? are we there yet? are we there yet? are we there yet?".

Yeah, the 6800 is an odd one.. 80 bucks to expensive. The performance is enough for what I want but I don't like the price so if I can I will most likely be going for the 6800XT performance bracket and most likely AMD as I don't like Nvidia as a company but more importantly, they are rarer than unicorns at this point.

So fellow initial stock contenders. Let the games begin!

Love the way everyone's looking forward to 18th November, as if that will have any bearing on when they're actually able to get the card :D.
Well, I had a look at the used market for something like a 5700XT or 2070 Super but the prices are silly. Around 80-90% of MSRP... Nope not paying that.
