Silly question - do all the Radeon cards have a red line and branding in them or is it all RGB?

Going for a white and blue build so red on the card is a no go. Ridiculous but meh I’ve got to look at the thing :o

No it won't be 770 pounds because that doesn't include VAT

You'll be looking about £900 inc VAT

I.e. $999 = £740 + 20% VAT = £890
oh i see, but that still cheaper than the 3090, and apparently the 6900xt will beat the 3090

so the 6800xt is on par with the 3080 i suppose

that's proabbly realistic as its a rog and has an aio on it. Although it looks butt ugly if you ask me!
Agree with the looks, though if I had to go for an AMD card it would be that 'if' it could OC to match or beat the 3080 @4k, really don't get the review embargo on these cards unless AMD know there are hardly any new cards launching today so it wont matter? At this point I might just get a 3090 and have done it's gone ridiculous.

I think in rasterization AMD will catch up that 6% with driver maturity, and what is 6% really if it's hitting maz refresh rates of panels?

RT is another beast entirely and if it's what you when then team green will probably be best for the games currently about to release - however I'm of the opinion that AMD having the console market developers may opt of the "crappier£ ray tracing which will bring performance back in line.

I mean if it's acceptable for nvidia to havea bit vaseline @4k to make frames better then it's only fair AMD get the same on the RT bits ;)

Ridiculous is spending £1400-£1600 on a graphics card (3090)

For me it's about VR performance as the pancake panel performance is going to be amazing be it a Red or Green card.
Unfortunately the VR performance every single FPS counts and the Ampere range edges out a 9% lead and the AMD card's like you said driver maturity seem to struggle in certain VR situations with reprojection etc and frame handling, it's why if im spending £900+ at this point for a 3080/6800XT I might just say Fudge and go the 3090 as I dont see anyone realistically getting the 6900XT this side of April 2021??

hang on, need clarification

as i cant get my hands on a 3080 i thought id try an order a 6800xt, considering its amd top card however

are you saying there will be a 6900xt

which means its a faster card than the 3080? i might as well wait for the 6900xt then

how much are we talking here? 3080 money for the 6900xt?
Hang on, you have not purchased a 3090 yet? Thought that what you said you was going to do?

Yes, the 6900XT will be a better card than a 3080 in rasta performance. Though will still be behind in RT if that means anything to you. Will likely be between £900-£1000.

Yes

899£ for a 6800xt all 4 of them

Exchange rate may very and so can the price. +/- 10%

I think this is basically me out of pc gaming.
It's not worth twice price of a console. And that's just the gpu

So, are we basically looking at 2k for a pc build now? Vs 450 for a console?

2K ? You hoping to plug just a GPU it your TV without any other parts?? :D:D:D

I've no idea what the current gen mobo/cpu/ram etc cost now.

I built my current pc for 1k (plus monitor) now its twice that?
Going to price a lot of people out. Its not that I don't have that for hobbies etc. It's that I can't justify it on one hobby. And if the prices keep at this rate.. It's only going to get worse

700 was borderline. At least of it is 900 its not a difficult decision.

I'm shocked at the prices.

I don't think anyone elses hobby which involves buying expensive modern tech has become cheaper this year.

Turn down the graphics and save up for better times.

Depends where you want to land? I was very tongue in cheek with the comment as GPU's are indeed being seen for 2k online due to stock shortages.

Looking around online allot of steam getting behind AMD not improving stock situations globally today by much at all.

I'm at the end of my current build.

4770k and a 1070.

Was planning a gpu upgrade this year to bottleneck the cpu

Then in early 2021 upgrade the mobo/ram/cpu

I was banking on 400-500 gpu option. Probably second hand. But the second hand market it worse than buying new with the prices.

Was hoping to pay 1k for the full upgrade.

I can't justify 2k on an unproductive hobby.

Ill go with my other option. Probably a 1080ti which will be near the bottleneck of my current build . Next year I'll get an xbox and just keep pc as is
