I actually think the price for the 6800xts to be ok. I am expecting the 6900xt to be around the 1200 mark in the shops with the extra tax for vat/shipping/new car.
I think a lot of people are bent out of shape with AMD because they were expecting budget prices for top tier products.

I think most people, myself included, just wanted availability and a fair price. I can't help but think the more we normalise the price of these gpus the higher and higher they will creep. The 6800 is high mid range, that's previously been £400-500 not £600-700

I get what everyone is saying, but teh jump in performance from last year's midrange to this gens midrange is crazy, the companies will push prices to see what people are willing to pay. Personally I think the 66800 is just a way to get people to spend the little bit extra for the 6800XT. Once the Ti cards pop up, Hopefully the price wars between the 2 brands will begin in earnest. Whichever brand you go for, you can't really lose in terms of performance.

He does mention that Nvidia are doing it too, he says it's exactly what they've been accused of with the 30 series and exactly what they did with the 2080Ti. I suppose it's an AMD video. Maybe there will be more discussion on it in their Q&A. Lets face it, GPU prices are too high and that's, IMHO, not including the current excessive markup. Steve sums it up well in the final thoughts.
He doesn't hit them as hard though and went out of his way to bash AMD. Those conclusions would have been better suited its own video rather than at the end if a review for a specific AMD board partner card. Example why not bash the general price of things at the end of a review of the suprim X 3080? And call out Nvidia for setting unrealistic targets for msrp and not being your friend.
As I said I thinks it's all true but it applies to AMD/Nvidia equally and no need to troll the end of a review of a specific card with it.

Missing the big picture here. Steve actually DID bash Nvidia and he bashes them quite often anyway when they launched their cards. But people claim bias when he one time bashes AMD, oh wow much bias.

Secondly, Nvidia doesn't claim to be the consumer's friend or make lofty promises in twitter storms. AMD on the other hand plays directly into your hopes and fears as the consumer and frequently engages in Samsung-esque marketing tactics on twitter and youtube.

Essentially: When the big bully screws you, why would you act surprised. When your so called best friend screws you, then you should be ******* ****** off.

Sadly biased these days simply means “said something bad about the company I irrationally love” while completely ignoring anything else that person has ever said.

I didn't miss the big picture but most people will because he chose to have his rant at the end of a review video for 6800xt red devil!

So like I said I agree with him on unrealistic msrps and avoiding overpriced AMD/Nvidia GPUs but it's better placed on its own videoas it leaves a sour taste at the end of that review which suppose to be about that specific card.

Has power draw figures too.

Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh! I was set on waiting for the 3080ti, now I want the 6900xt because of that video!

The Powercolor reference XT is about to sell on the auction site for nearly twice the price paid. Who is paying that?

Tinfoil hat - scalpers networks bidding on them to artificially inflate the sold price. Even if they win it themselves it keeps one in their stock and they now know how much they can make on the next sale.

In any case, I've resigned to the fact I'm not getting one. I just can't justify over £700 on a GPU, it's why I've been AMD for so long. When AMD start costing more than nVidia, I'm out.

Honestly both these launches have been a crap shoot, reviewers get them and tell us how amazing they are and scalpers seem to get the rest of them. AMD and Nv should be ashamed of themselves telling us how amazing their launches are, utter **** up for honest gamers!

Ray Tracing is pretty much gimped this generation as well

watch dogs legion on consoles only uses reflections, no GI or shadows - so should run good and high quality right?

yeah no, 6700xt/Xbox Series X only doing 720p 30fps on Ray Traced reflections

It's funny cause just the other day AMD put out a presentation saying they can get great performance with 1 ray per pixel but the poor series X is doing 1 ray per 2 to 4 pixels at 30fps LMAO

Look at that power usage! Now who is hot and loud? :D Nvidia is very power hungry now its mad how the tides can turn.

I remember while back in here when Nvidia was top and I said it only take AMD to release a single GPU and then they back in the game! I was told that wouldn't be possible back then because how far ahead Nvidia was. Now look at how silly you all was saying I was wrong! :p
