The thread which sometimes talks about RDNA2

He has always loved Nvidia. I recall posting pics in the "other" thread were he would use Nvidia ad placement but only use AMD CPUs but would refused to put up Radeon product placement. It's stuff like that. He even defended Nvidia when Kyle Bennet (defunct HOC) broke the news that Nvidia was trying to steal branding from Radeon, using GPP.

Dunno if you've realised yet but Steve currently has zero, nada, nothing Radeon wise on display intentionally to work people like you up - it isn't by accident or related to any bias whether real or imagined. They are actually doing it intentionally right now to try and manufacture drama - though no one aside from some individual forum posters seem to be biting.

He used to have both nVidia and AMD Radeon product placement prominent for years regardless of any bias (you can go back through his older videos) then one day they arranged stuff differently, all hell breaks loose.

Now they are intentionally making sure to put nVidia stuff first and foremost and hide anything Radeon for the LOLs.

I think i can speak for everyone on these forums when I say it would be nice to see Humbug back on a AMD GPU, preferably a 6800 or higher.

It doesn't sit right with most folk to see him using a 2070 Super.

Yep, it’s giving me sleepless nights! :D

Well, that and wondering if I can get a 6900XT this side of next summer.

Absolutely 100% spot on. the youtubers have realised for a while now that the product shelves behind them can draw a **** ton of controversy - so at first they try to arrange the shelf for less controversy, but they arrange it to build drama because it gives them the opportunity to make more videos and generate more clicks with catchy drama titles

So what you are saying is that:
He intentionally shows bias for nvidia to have people, like me, point out: product placement, other videos, etc.
You say it was done in his "master plan" to troll viewers. Which only reinforces his image that he is bias towards Nvidia.
Then claim he is justified because he "use to have AMD products".
Ok Rroff
ROFL, I'm actually being entertained with this level of mental gymnastics. I still give it 6 out of 10. The routine is a bit stale. Gotta stick the landing better.
:D

Edit:
The only people silly enough to believe that cockamamie story are those looking to defend him. Nothing more, nothing less. Way before he moved his studio to the place it's in now. Way before he was recorded videos regularly. He has always had a slant favoring nvidia.

Not quite in the way you've phrased it but yes the current absolute lack of anything Radeon on display is absolutely intentional and essentially trolling to try and manufacture drama (something he has been trying to do a lot lately) - he is one of the few sources of tech news, etc. I actually watch frequently and he has pretty much admitted as much with some of the Q&A stuff.

If you know Steve you'll know I'm right about this LOL.

It is a knee jerk reaction to the previous accusations not some master plan.

Do you mean they are too expensive? I agree price for performance needs to improve at the mid to lower end. Lets see what they bring out soon.

You should just do what I do, buy what you want, take a small hit and sell it before the next gen comes out. Unless we get a 7nm refresh of Ampere with much better prices, I recon I will only lose about £100 or less on my 3080 FE and will have kept it for 18-24 months. That ain't too bad for being near cutting edge tech. Basically if you put away £10 a month towards a GPU upgrades pot, you could do this with ease.

Just look at members market, someone managed to sell a 2080S for £400! Could not believe my eyes as one can buy a 3070 with a bit of patience for like £70 more and it would be brand new! Not to mention we have a 3060Ti coming for £400 or less soon.
The only place you can realistically buy them are from the ebay scalpers, therefore I consider them "unavailable".

I mean currently as we speak you can't be any of these products from a retailer, can you. None of them :p No 5000 series CPUs, no 3000 or 6000 series GPUs, no consoles :p

You just can't buy anything right now, lol.

What is it you are after? I can maybe send you a link to a bot alert group on telegram? Since I joined it about a month ago there has been ample opportunity to buy 3070, 3080 and 3090 FE's. How do you think me mokka Th0nt managed to get his 3090FE? I sent him a link ;)

Either way. In a couple of months or so stock will start to normalise. I get the feeling 6800's will be plentiful in January.

While supply is pretty meh 3000 series GPUs are regularly available if you are prepared to pay or are on the ball :( several nights the £659, etc. 3070s have gone up mid-afternoon and not sold out until early hours of the morning - 3090s generally take awhile to sell out as well. FE drops are there if you are on the ball. I managed to get a 3070FE on my second try without resorting to notifications, etc.

Had pallets of PS5s come through where I work last night - few places will have them up for order on Thursday - though by the looks of it staff are having first dibs at most retailers and probably only single digit making it to retail LOL (the jokes about where they should be stored LOL - I kept suggesting they somehow ended up in the back of my truck)

My Seasonic PSU isn't coming until Jan 1st :p As close as possible to then I will be buying:

A 5800X or a 5700X (CPU) if the latter materialises.
A 6800XT or a 6700XT if the latter materialises and can do high-refresh 1440p.
A Gibabyte B550 Aorus Pro
A 970 Evo Plus 1TB or better.

In the meantime I've got plenty of searching to do for:

The perfect ATX case :p
The perfect UWQHD high-refresh monitor.
Some balls, in order to get an AIO and not be worried about water destroying everything (it's an irrational fear!)

Going to be an expensive start to the year but **** it. The 2500K keeps moaning about wanting to retire to a beach in Fiji :p I've kept him in service long enough!

e: I would quite happily buy a 6800XT at the AMD RRP of <£600 (right now), but they are rarer than rocking horse crap, and realistically I have zero chance. :p

Ah nice to see you are finally upgrading. Yeah, I am sure a 6800XT at RRP will be possible by the time you PSU arrives :)

I'd keep an eye on these - I managed to snag some at 40% off the long term price recently and there have been a good few sales. (Actual 40% off BTW not the current 38% or whatever on a certain site which is actually only just below the long term price).

Perhaps we need a poll to decide Humbugs next GPU purchase.

I would be so conflicted on what to vote for.

Then he's a fool. It hurts his credibility.

Most of his audience doesn't care though - he seems to have developed a bit of a complexion lately taking up crusades, etc. personally I just find it funny.

If he's deliberately manufacturing drama for ***** and giggles, then that says a lot about his character.

I can see they've been as low as £120 but back up to £150 right now.

e: Silly me I meant "They're currently £200 here at OcUK!" :p

All I can really say is no comment LOL.

It is what it is - it has got a bit annoying of late but I still find him one of the few sources for more serious information and largely fact checks, etc. rather than interpreting information.

But if you've watched him as long as I have you'd know he is on a wind up now with the whole deal as to what is on display behind him.
