I don't see why Jay ragging on the 6900XT is negative.
It's an expensive GPU that falls short at 4K relative to the 3080 for 1K.

The 3090 is crap albeit considering the price too.

Burn him!!!! :D

Well it's true.

The 6900XT might well be the best GPU on the planet if you're gaming at 1440P, but who's buying a 1K GPU for 1440P?

The 6800XT is forgivable to an extent, but for 4K you'd want a 3080, but the 6900XT deserves negativity because of that 4K drop off.

The 6800 non-XT is also crap and not worth buying, imho. Because of how they priced it.

I’d recommend checking other reviews before forming a complete conclusion.

Of course. Lots of problems, with OC, power spikes etc. Bad stock config. Barely better than a 6800 XT. Hopefully these will be resolved.

Edit: Even Steve mentioned instability. Again, hopefully that parts gets sorted quickly.

I somewhat agree, at its RRP of £520 it probably fits right in between the 3070-3080 correctly, but that's not exactly good.

And you see the AIB or markups selling for much higher. When that is the case for both 6800/XT its a no considering they should be priced under nvidia if they want them to sell in volume.

Mostly it's just crap compared to the XT.

£520 vs £585. And the XT is far better than than the £65 saved.

It's the same situation as the 5800X at £430 vs the 5900X at £490.

The pricing makes no sense.

I think you will see e sports teams run amd setups because of the rasterization performance. That'll help move cards especially in SEA you would imagine

For a start it isn't £1k ;) it wasa £899. With that im on 1440p and seems ideal card if want maximum performance at that resolution for instance to go with the 144Hz it can do. Is it overpriced compared to the 6800xt, yep but at end of day was in stock and it still gives a 6-10% performance boost depending on game and will suit me for a good few years.

I'm getting the distinct recollection of people defending their titan purchases which normalised the current GPU marketing.

He got salty as they didnt send him some hardware once. Serves him right for being a *****. As for the cherry picking, well thats why people turn off for him. Its as obvious as grim and ECH shilling their brands on here! :)
Lol :D

Em okay :/ just an opinion. Still seems like the better card for 1440p generally. It is actually double what I wanted to pay but at end of the day I haven't upgraded my PC in 6.5 years and with me selling off my two 980's I have had the upgrade cost will be about £400 so can live with that.

Yea, JayZ2Cents went from being quite upbeat about the 6800XT to being completely down on the 6900XT.

And this is what he did.

Took out all the 1080P and 1440P benchmarks, where AMD does well
Took out Firestrike from the synthetics benchmarks, where AMD does well.
Took out Assassin's Creed Valhalla, which was the only AMD title he had to start with, took it out and claimed it was broken.
Claimed it used far too much power despite it using the same as the 6800XT and much less than the 3090, claimed it was tripping his power supply which is a known problem with the Nvidia cards and not the AMD cards
Claimed AMD's drivers are broken.

And then concluded it was a bad card.

I think he Cucked to Nvidia, sadly.

So he defaulted to type then, with the 6800XT being a strange anomoly, guess he was drunk that day or maybe nividia's cheque hadn't arrived on time. Oh well alls right with the world again for a while I thought it had shifted off its axis.

On the 6900XT power draw topic, here is a nice clear one from forum favourite Division 2 @ 4k.

That 3090 Suprim gives some serious performance but then you see that the 6900XT custom has plenty of room to move into before it trips a quality 750W PSU never mind a 1KW model.

Makes a mockery of Jay whining about power draw tbh this screenshot.

TD2 is one of the better choices to test tbh, because it's very compute/fp32 heavy and it actually puts a proper load on all those shader cores Ampere packs, hence the high power usage. It's also why AMD & NV traded places here this time, as it used to be "AMD favoured" (but really it was just the hw was better for the game).
