The "Top Gear", Season 24/25/26 thread

I really enjoyed the episode yesterday.
The M5 and E63S comparison was great and I even enjoyed the Sri Lanka segment. Chris and Matt are so much better and refreshing to watch than the TGT crew rehashing the same old jokes.

You have to be joking right. This is just 3 different people rehashing the same old jokes. They have literally even just copied what TGT have already done this season. M5 review, check. Rolling a car down a cliff, check. At the moment it's like a bad parody of TGT, and Chris Harris is embarrassing himself.

I like Chris Harris, but I don't like the stupid persona he puts on in some segments.

You realise that the M5 review, and - in fact - the rest of it was almost certainly scripted and filmed long before they knew what TGT was doing, right? It's hardly surprising that similar cars appear on different car shows, is it?

Think I preferred TGT’s M5 review but thought that was a bit meh tbh, not interested in Tuk Tuks (or whatever there called) both shows seem to be very hit & miss.

The SUV bit was weird anyway - the Jimny has just been updated, with a lot of press and attention, so why didn't they use that?!? Almost like they chose the wrong cheap Suzuki

Yep, I'd have really liked to see the Jimny across that terrain.

Then to pitch the ugly little Ignis against the Panda which has been around for almost 8 years now, it felt like they came up with a challenge and then randomly chose two cars for it rather than actually planning the segment properly.

Yes, and that's exactly why it makes Top Gear irrelevant.

Top Gear has lost it I think. It feels to...rigid.

TGT is just doing everything better right now. TGT should just offer Chris more money and recruit him for future seasons as the knowledge guy :p

Harris needs to go back to being a youtube independent. Something he was excellent at and where he could be himself without any stupid TV persona.
