The Touchpad Android thread

I think I'm going to wack ICS on my touchpad tonight.

When newer versions come out is it relatively simple to just flash over the top? Also, does it save your settings or does it essentially factory reset every time you flash it?

No need to do a wipe normally, you just copy a zip over and flash it from clockworkmod.

Don't put the CM9 release on but the Bricked Rom, yes in the future you just reflash over the top.

A quick question. I have an app which which centred itself on the screen with CM7 but only took up around 25% of the Touchpad's screen area but now with CM9 it's too big for the screen and a big portion of the app area is off the screen. It can't be resized in the app. Any ideas how I can get the app to display properly?

You could try changing your dpi in the build.prop

Kernel source from HP would have been more helpful earlier in development. Don't expect huge gains from this source.

It will help with things like serial console and Bluetooth. Most other areas it *might* with will be minor.

Should help with drivers. Specifically things like touch/wifi/sound/gpu etc..

I'm fairly sure that all 4 bits you mention will be very basic at the kernel level with a large proprietary blob of code in userland to do most of the 'driver' work, this is one of the annoying things manufacturers do to make software engineers lives harder...

/me walks away muttering about TI video acceleration...

Hi all,

I get severe problems with the wi-fi on my Touchpad 0.5 ICS beta....does anyone else?

I mean unusable bad, completely disconnects every few seconds, then refuses to see the network.

I use WPA/PSK, do you think it would matter if I upgraded the security to WPA2?
