The Touchpad Android thread

I've just updated my touchpad to the latest nightly (only had the first release of Alpha before). It's nice and snappy now but the battery life is still terrible. Lost 30% over night.

Webos lasts about 2 weeks on standby.

It's the only thing stopping me from running ICS permanently. Anyone else having the same problem?

I am still running the first alpha and looking to upgrade to a new nightly.
Is it just a case of flashing the latest file from recovery mode?:

Or has the flashing procedure changed from the early alphas?
Tried to find documentation but cant see anything useful.

You can just flash using ROM manager, but you should wipe the device when moving to the nightlies to avoid issues with WiFi and battery drain etc.

the camera works in the latest JB previews, or at least taking photos does - don't know about video, can't remember if it works in stock cm10

Didn't know there was a ROM with PA settings available, love Paranoid Android on my GS2. Must try this later :)

Unaware of this issue? Presume its a brick that can be easily fixed? If so I can run it down and see. Other than the initial problem with getting the software buttons to show - this ROM is great! Fast, smooth and the camera and sound work :)

Took a while to drain which is good but I can't get it to turn back on. Tried a low milliamp charger, induction charger and now a 2 milliamp charger - no response from either of them.

:/

if it's not fixed in the stock cm10 builds then i wouldn't assume it's fixed in shizoid either. try this http://rootzwiki.com/topic/36658-tpdebrick-v01/page__pid__1030495#entry1030495

as for shizoid, It's good. there's some conflict between the AOKP settings and PA which is a bit of a pain (AOKP taking precedence when setting tablet mode, two sets of toggles in the notification drop down etc). It's nothing that cant be gotten around with a few minutes of setting up. Otherwise, shizoid seems pretty similar to cm10 in use, I cant say its any quicker or slower, but i prefer shizoids theme and of course the excellent PA settings.

All good now, think it was just being tetchy.

EDIT - there is one problem I can't figure out......when plugged into the PC the TP will not show up as an external drive. I can't find any settings that would rectify it, any ideas?

£21.50 to upgrade to Android is a joke, especially as he claims he's not responsible if he bricks the tablet, although that is pretty unlikely...

It's a very simple procedure, at work so can't find the link but I'll try to remember tonight if no-one else does, once done you don't need to update if you don't want to.
