The Turing RTX 2080 Ti Owners Thread

so can see on gamers nexus video DLSS is causing very noticeable shimmering, shimmering drives me nuts, and I foten tune games to minimise shimmering.

Still only seen DLSS been tested on 4k no other resolutions, as if it can only work on 4k.

Personally am not impressed, makes me happier about my 1080ti purchase. As DLSS was the only thing that had me slightly wary.

Pick a game with no native RTX at 4k, run dlss which is not available yet. then make a review saying there's issues ? lol

Do we know if rtx and dlss work together? I was reading that the tensor cores are used to de- noise raytracing? Does this mean they are not available for SS?

I assume it’s the latest build of Windows 10 causing the issues with power management but ever since I installed my 2080ti, I can’t boot windows from cold without a black screen, and if my monitor ever sleeps, I can never wake the system back up.

I’ve disabled fast startup which has at least fixed the cold boot issue, but the sleep one is extremely frustrating.

I have no idea, but just by going with logic, I think it would be a bit daft if you couldnt have Ray Tracing and DLSS running together. ?

Must be something on your side as mine wakes from sleep just fine. That’s with 2080Ti and latest drivers + windows update.

I've had the monitor sleep issue once as of the weekend, but not since. Can you confirm if you have multiple displays?

It's possibly down to instability, too. The cold boot issue sounds like memory training.

DLSS and Ray Tracing might not work together, I know there is a list of games that are supposed to have both DLSS and Ray Tracing, but it doesn't say they are going to be working at the same time. We know that Ray Tracing uses the Tensor cores to Denoise the image. If the tensor cores are already in use denoising the frame, can they be used to apply DLSS at the same time? My thinking would be that they would have to wait until the denoising is finished before using DLSS. If that's the case, how much of delay will that cause in rendering the frame?

That's a fair point and a good point.

Say they can't run together, then I'm pretty sure most would keep RT and use TAA, so in essence you would use ATAA or DLSS.

It’s not instability, as it doesn’t affect my CHG90, only the PG348. System boots and resumes fine with the 49” over DP but the 34 I can’t use fast boot, and can never get it to wake the monitor back up without a reboot.

Single display system, and appears to be a recurrence of the same issue Nvidia had to release a bios flash for last generation.
