The Turing RTX 2080 Ti Owners Thread

Hello there, not a 2080 ti owner but planning on to become one.

I'm a bit torn of what brand to go with.
My eyes are on MSI trio x and aorus extreme or aorus waterforce AIO.

I was able to find a brand new aorus extreme for £1000 with 4 years warranty etc but from what I've read they run quite hot compared to other 2080 ti cards.
For reference I plan to pair it with a 3900x (cooled by a 240mm AIO placed in front of the case) and also plan to set up the GPU vertically , that should increase the temps even more am I right?
Now I know this would be dumb for some but I selected the 3 cards because of their RGB  , and don't really care about other models.
Next would be the MSI trio xwhich seem to be perfect for every situation and then there's the extreme aorus AIO which I'd love to have but goes almost £300 more and I'm not sure that price is
reasonable for a few FPS increase?

Would appreciate some opinions, cheers.

zotac 2080 ti
i wouldn't touch another arous again sorry gigabyte!

Maybe a daft question, but is there a more 'beefier' card than the 2080 ti at the moment? My wife wants to upgrade so I'm thinking of giving her my EVGA 2080 ti XC Ultra and getting the next best thing.

Only the very expensive Rtx Titan. And even then it’s a marginal improvement.

Next gen shouldn’t be too long now. Early 2020 hopefully.

What does your wife have now? I wouldn't be spending so much on a titan this late in the stage when next gen is due

My old EVGA 1080ti SC2, it does her well but she just got a new monitor, which is still 1440p but went from 60hz to 144hz so she's wants to use that extra headroom. I'll probably just get her a 2080ti to tie her over until next gen.

They are nice cards.:)

Here is mine.

*snip[*

Nice! I had a quick look, and the fps boost for games is very marginal so I'll hold back for now.

Got my Zotac blower this morning and surprise surprise, It's equipped with Samsung memory, Jackpot :D

Don’t for get to get that Warrenty sort rASAP mate.

Will do thanks for the reminder bud :)

Am looking at that card myself, be interested to see your setup and how you get on with boost clocks and tempts, sound etc. Can't find a review of the blower style...

I'm about to do a 30 minute play session in Destiny 2, I'll have GPU-Z running with average clocks and temps being monitored, will report back in around an hour :)

Ok went a little over 30 minutes, Ended up doing 2 hours :p

Noise on a 1:1 fan curve is fine, Heard the 780, 780 Ti, 980, 980 Ti, 1080, 1080 Ti Founders Edition coolers ? Basically the exact same.

Temps, Same as above, And with zero overclocks, Just stock settings it boosts to just shy of 1800MHz and stays there for the duration.

2 hour GPU-Z screenshot.

That is promising for £899.99 the temp did not reach 80c. I plan mine tomorrow hopefully to do mine at 8k in For Honor i know last time i had 17-19fps on the 8k benchmark with my 1080.

A good result would be near 37fps, Under 80c with 1800ish boost. Fingers crossed!

Why 8K out of curiosity ? Or is that just your stress bench ?

Even more stressful than 4k, I can trick it by going from 1080p DSR x4 which is 4k. Then tell For Honor to Supersample that x2 which is 8k. The 2080ti scales best also it would show if you can get x2 perf over a 1080. At 4k not quite more like 90% but it scales better the higher the resolution.

I may double my fps who knows, I am eager to see.

Interesting, I just set max settings and game at 1440P personally :p
