The µ43 thread - welcome to the really dark side

Well done Jamal - good price too!

I must say I am impressed by the 40-150 lens. Its a cracker for the money.

I think ill swap the 14-42 for the f2.8 12-40 when I can afford it. The f2.8 40-150 version looks too bulky/heavy and the 40-150 is a good enough lens for what I need it for.

Better goodies then some of ours though esp the pro wide angled lens :P

Says he who recently spent more on a drone :p :D

Want to order the 17mm 1.8 and the 60mm macro, but will depend on price of both. The 17 is a cert though :)

My drone cost less than ur wide angle :P

Agree with you about the 17mm and 60mm macro though. They are next on my list after the 12-40 pro

Really enjoyed using em-5ii on my recent holiday, even with weight of the 12-40mm I just walked around holding camera in one hand (with finger strap) - made the whole experience much more "impulsive".

Lovely shot, was that with the 12-40? :)

Got confirmations this morning, one goodie turning up today, and another tomorrow :)

yep! the original pic is very sharp. Had it on the entire trip, which I guess was the point, seemed to cover 90% of what a wanted to shoot. The other 10% would have been handy to have a wide angle but my phone did a cracking job of panoramics to my surprise.

ooopsy :D

Initial thoughts...build quality is excellent, it's nice and light, oh and it's shiny :D

And I LOVE the lens cap.

look forward to some samples from that 7-14, £1k though, my days of spending that much on a lens are well gone now though, too much going on, New Zealand trip, new car in January and a new house next year! I'll stick with my 9-18 for now ha.

Ah yes see my only real expense is a trip around the world, none of that silly responsible stuff like new cars and a house :p

What's the 9-18 like Wez? Pretty decent or are you left feeling you want more? (like Phate) :P

The 9-18 is a great lens. For my I wanted the 7-14 for the f/2.8 - it will be used underwater eventually, and you need every stop you can get! The build quality between this and the 9-18 isn't comparable. It's like comparing the Canon 50mm f/1.8 to the 50L F/1.2 - the difference is night and day.

I can't stop staring at the front element! :D - even the box is well presented, and you get a pouch to carry it in (which is perfect for the traveling, so very happy with that as it solves a problem for me)

I have to say, this is my first 'new' Olympus lens purchase and the presentation etc is fantastic. :)

I love my 9-18. Ridiculously tiny and light, cheap filter size and very decent (although obviously not stellar) performance. As a lightweight landscape lens it's awesome.

The 7-14 is obviously bloody lovely, but its expensive, relatively large and doesn't take filters.

I did miss the extra couple of mm initially coming from a 10-20 on DSLR, but I don't often notice it now and just stitch panos if needed.

If I wasn't going UW, I wouldn't have gotten the 7-14. The f/2.8 was the selling point for me.

Oh, and it is VERY shiny! :p :D

Joking aside - wouldn't hesitate to recommend the 9-18. I very nearly bought one, then this thing came out! Typical! :p

nice pics.

And yeah Phate I know what you mean about the Olympus stuff and how its packed and presented. I am very, very impressed so far with them.

They never bloody give you a hood though! At least with non-PRO stuff.

Yeah seems mean that but suppose keeps the headline price down. :)

I bought my two lens 2nd hand and both came with a hood and hoya uv filter and one even with the macro screw on converter which works really well with the 40-150
