The value of getting multiple quotes.

Would I be right in saying a third of the tree is over a neighbours garden and will any work be done that would be on that side?

I'm swinging more towards the lower quote after seeing the above.

Not with the lower quote. This guy seemed to know what he was talking about more than the higher one.
The higher quote would require work on neighbours side. Apparently not going in the neighbours

I will get a pic

The red vertical. They are going to take 2m off
The red arrow they are planning on taking completely out.

The other more expensive one were going to do a crown reduction all round. But second quote said this would be bad as it will just regrow this quickly

These are TPO trees and both quotes were from fully licensed organisations.

Yeeeah... I'm not understanding the red lines at all. Anyone else or just me?

I always get multiple quotes to make sure I have the correct information on what I need to buy to do the job myself.

Had a $1400 quote to fix my car while in the US and I fixed it myself after a $70 order off Amazon.

Well under £200, I would say £150 would be plenty. To be honest I'd do something like that myself, it's not exactly big in the grand scheme of things. The tree people also get to sell the timber, either as logs or wood chips.

My next door neighbour wanted an overhanging tree of mine cutting back as it was taking light off a mini orchard. I told her if she paid for it to be cut down entirely she could have the timber. She jumped at the offer.

With the trees being TPO I'd never get permission to do it myself.
I could probably do it myself as well. I have a chainsaw capable of that width of bow. And could do the majority of the vertical myself also

I'll give you £200 if you pay the fuel to my house? And teach me other manly things?

The quote for this 50 foot pine of mine, felled, logged and the brash stacked tidily for burning was £300.

Post a photo of the tree and what you want done with it and I can tell you pretty accurately what it would cost round here for fully insured professional to do it.

Do me please! What do you reckon with these? This is the best image I had on my phone that captured them all and their heights, can take a better one if required.

No.1 is a pine about 20m, no.2 is actually two pines growing together, no.3 is two oak trees also growing together but only about 10m I think, and no idea what no.4 is  but has a horrid bend that'll make felling a challenge.

I just need them cut to a stump that can be tractor-dug out later, the wood cut to 500m lengths and stacked. Some of the trees are tricky due to them being close to sheds or woodstores. This is something I've been wanting to do but other priorities always come up.

Very easy if you own the land behind the trees, just pull them with a decent rope and a tractor whilst someone chain saws the trunk, then tidy up. If there's a fence it will need temporarily removing. I would imagine £400 or so. A good 2 full days work for a decent chap. The oaks, (which look more like birches to me) would need climbing and bringing down with some consideration for the buildings, but whilst not in leaf they look straightforward. Getting `em down is fairly easy, tidying up is the PITA.

My advice..
Remote into the 2nd drop ship.
Come down to surface, then evac.
Nuke the entire garden from orbit, it's the only way to be sure.

You're looking at 40 million spacebucks and life on a penal planet for genocide.
