Just an update on my dna 40 and ni200 temp sensing coils.
I found the ground wire that's screwed to the chassis was not tight, causing a bad connection and shorts, since tightening it down its been working like a charm... so anyone with a hana dna 40 having issues, check the ground wire, it's under the battery cover, top right, just above the plastic cover over the dna board and screws direct into the case.
 
For the IStick, it ideally needs to be 2a if it might be used in pass-through mode. I wouldn't go lower than 1.5a regardless.

The charge from 3.2v to 3.7v will be noticeably faster than 3.7v to 4.2v, as it'll go into a trickle mode near the end of it's capacity.
 
I've given up on using Ni200 in my Rose V2. I've tried around 10 different builds with it but I'm always plagued with the same issues.
The resistance always starts out steady at 0.11 but then will randomly jump up to 0.2 or 0.3, or the temp will randomly jump up to 600+ instantly setting off the limiter. The mod also gets roasting hot. Everything points towards some kind of short somewhere but I'm at a loss as to where.
It can't be the mod (rDNA40) because my KFL+ coiled with Ni200 works perfectly. I have the Rose coiled with Kanthal now and it's vaping like a monster, by far the best vape I've experienced. Annoyed I can't get Nickel to play with it though :(
 
Neodude, I feel your pain, this ni200 stuff is nasty to work with so when it fails to work its frustrating.
The coil you made in the rose, was it contact or spread and did you clamp down on the leads or wrap around the screws?
 
Got my new istick and nautilus mini in the post yesterday, going well so far, just hope it doesnt leak / flood. Need to get some lower strength nic now cos the throat hit on this is mega (1.8%)

The Istick is a great we device, especially if you have a rebuildable so you can put in an optimal coil for the full 5.5v and 20w range, I use mine with a Big Dripper RDA, great for drip driving, currently have a single coil at 1.9ohms so not getting full watts but at 4.5v/10.1w its giving great flavour and vapor and the battery is lasting days.

I've tried a few different builds, from a 5 wrap contact coil to a twisted 10 wrap spread coil. The terminals on the rose are recessed in 2 holes and clamped with 2 grub screws so there is not much else you can do there. Like I said, I've built my KFL+ with ni200 and it works perfectly, resistance is constant at 0.11. The resistance on the Rose is all over the place.

TBH the main reason I went to ni200 was for the temp control to stop burnt/dry hits on the KFL. Now with kanthal in the Rose I have no issues with leaking or dry hits so I'm a happy man :)

I read on another forum, a guy using the Rose, said he had issues at first as you cant see if the wires have been properly trapped in the hole?
But if your happy with the KFL then its good to go, im still not sure about the whole temp sensing thing, got a dual .08ohm in my Magma and it works, but not producing as much vapor or flavour as it was with less power on a .5ohm kanthal build.
Going to try and build a higher ohm dual coil for it tonight, aim for around .11 ohm, more coil surface area, see if that helps.
Also have a single coil in my Veritas, but it hits temp limit way to fast to get a good vape, plus the coil has a hot leg which is probably responsible, not a good atty for ni200.. my Stillare is doing well with a .06ohm dual, but again... not as good as a kanthal, but could also be down to such small coils...

Mine looks like the screen on that, it takes about 2-3 hours to charge. What amp charger are you using? As it really should be higher than 500 mah. Mobile phone chargers are around 700 mah.

Yes we are talking about the same unit. When the unit is on charge with the power off you get a different battery power charge display. Thats where i am saying about the 3 bars/5 bars thing from.

My charging cable is the one supplied and charge it on my pc. That being said how every my mains charger is 500mah as i was giving this when buying the unit.

Oh I get you now, 500mah is the recommend amount for a charger when changing the unit when its powered off. like Hector says, you will need more that 500 mah if your vaping and charging at the same type. I'm not sure if the device is true pass though or charge then vape; where it charges the battery and your vaping of the battery while charging.

the battery is 2200 mah, and the charger is 500 mah, in theory it should take 4.4 hours to charge but since the battery is never 100% flat due to safety levels cut off 2 - 3 hours is normal (please correct me if I'm wrong).

It should certainly take more than 30 mins.

Are you charging when the battery is hot, straight after vaping? since that will affect the charge level of a battery.

edit: I just checked my charger that came with it, and it's 1000mah... I don't use it as its an euro plug, and I use my joytech 500mah one.

edit 2: OMG I've just tried mothers' milk (the ejucie not my mom's breast milk) and its is as good as everyone says it is!!! its strawberry and cream... smells like funny feet (the ice cream) and taste like funny feet, which happens to be my fav ice cream. 5/5 AMAZINGBALLS.

No i let it cool down for a good 30mins before i charge it. But it sure charges up a lot sooner than it should. Maybe its a dodgy battery. I shall ask where i got it from and see whats said. Doesnt last great compared to what i was expecting.

Arrgghhh, just had to order 30ml now! My juice collection is out of control and Ive ordered 35ml of hodges homebrew apple pie and custard today as well. Must have over 300ml so thats me done for a good while

I must say Hodges homebrew is fantastic and at 35ml for a tenner delivered its top notch pricing. He only does facebook but here is his menu for anyone who wants to try it.....

you won't be disappointed... I didn't even have to steep my bottle! I don't work for them but it really does taste like the 90's ice cream funny feet to me.. I NEED to empty a tank!

I here you on the ejuice front, I have loads of open bottles, some have been steeping for months, since I've brought the them. The issue I have is that loads of unopen bottles as they the same flavor as the open bottles. lol

that buy 4 bottles and get the cheapest free is a really good offer! but I really need to finish off what I have at the moment.
