Hm that sounds fine perhaps even a little to loose. Saying that I use rayon and it shrinks when it's saturated which is the opposite to cotton. Does it taste burnt straight away or after an extended drag?

I find if I have ~1.2ohm coil and start pumping 20w through it all I get is a burnt taste. I am using jap or organic cotton.

20w at 1.2 Ohs is just shy of 5v. That may explain the burnt taste lol.

Regardless of the buid and watts I always seem to end up around 4.2 - 4.4v. Guess it must be my sweet spot. :)

You an Android or iOS guy? Either way, I'd advise getting the Microcoil pro app, it tells you the heat co efficient etc. (or the steam engine one for free on 'droid) ;)

Well iv been busy in the shed for 2 hrs modifying my two RDA's that I have.

Okay, first of all, iv got this cheap £1.50 or something rda that I got from fast tech but never used because iv been too lazy to drill out the air hole on it, but today I was going to drill two air holes in it, one either side, but then I thought, ill just drill one big hole and use this for single coil builds and see how it does, I bored out the air hole to 2.5mm up from about 1mm that it was.

And next up, the job that took forever, my mutation X clone, which is the worst clone of it ever because the air holes are not aligned up to the coils in any way shape or form, so what iv been doing is building the coils raised up higher than the posts which was silly. and if you turned the outter shell of it upside down, the air holes was out of reach of the air flow control, and it would leak outta the air holes as they was too low down.
And I cant wait two weeks with no vaping on anything decent until my new better clone of the mutation X arrives.

So I went to turn the bench grinder on in the shed, bloody things stopped working, changed fuse, still nothing so I had to use a angle grinder with the most worn out disk you have EVER seen, and I had no new ones, there was about 10mm left of disk left on it lol. but I got the job done in the end, and finished the job off with sand paper. and I give it a brushed look on the outside to hide the scratches from holding it in the vice.

Will be building coils for it tonight.

Edit: also, you may notice a rubber o-ring missing, that's because Iv found some new thicker orings in shed, now it fits so snug its hard to get on and off, before it used to fall off it was that loose.

I'm so freeking pee'd at the moment... I know this ain't the thread for ranting; but between plumbers, landlords and estate agents.. I want a cig! The first time I feel I actually want one, so I'm hitting this vape mod pretty hard!

Try a bit of toothpaste on your finger, that's what I use to clean silver dollars that I use for some of my coin magic routines.

Damn, iv built a absolutely beauty of a 0.8ohm dual coil 28g kanthal build in my mutation X, (I ususally use 30g but thought id try 28g).
and iv made a beauty of a single coil 1.6ohm in my other little rda.

Now im undecided which is best, haha I definitely like the huge clouds from the dual, but I also like the flavour from single.
 
But iv noticed,..

Iv vaped the dual coil build, and single coil build, exactly the same amount of times,

And the single coil build has already gone orange dirty colour in the cotton, coils are fine though.

What causes that? its not burned at all, I was using 10W on the single coil, 20W on dual coil.

Can anyone help....

I smoke Lambert and Butler Originals and sometimes Regal. I've bought a vaper kit but am struggling to find some descent e-liquid that is like L&B/Regal.

Ive noticed the nicotine in e-juice goes from 0% to 2.4% generally.

My question is what strength e-juice should I be buying to replicate the cigs I smoke?

Yeah it did, Thanks... I cleaned a tank out and reorganize my vape tool box, my wires was a mess.

Tobacco e-juice don't taste like cigs, not any that I've tried anyway. I used to smoke Marlboro, so 1.6%-1.8% or 16/18mg is the level I vape at, thou I do vape a lot more than I used to smoke, but that's the nature of the beast.

It might be worth try RY4, its very popular and made from a blend of different tobacco with a hint of chocolate and vanilla, loads of companies make they own, some of the smaller shops do actually sell L&B flavor ejuice but I've never tried it myself as I've given up on that tobacco taste.

I smoked Marlboro Red and started on 24mg. In my experience vaping didn't work for me at first because I was trying to replicate cigarettes with tobacco flavoured e-liquid, I soon discovered that I was happier using other flavours.

For a real cigarette, USA mix its the most like a real cigarette iv ever tasted.

I vape RY4 dayily, but there are so many variations of RY4, as it is tabacco caramel and vanilla mixed, once you taste RY4, you will love it. cause it has that hint of cigarette plus nice other flavours. But the only RY4 I can vape is hangsen RY4, iv tried a few others from different websites, don't like them at all too strong on the vanilla from other eliquid makers.

But USA mix, if you want a real cigarette taste.
 
Was in the shop earlier listening to the woman in front of me in the queue. She'd been vaping on a nautilus mini at 20W, hadn't changed the coil in 4 weeks and complaining it tasted burnt. I was expecting the guy behind the counter to start trying to sell her things but instead she did it herself... do i need the next step up battery? Do i need the next step up "bottle", can i buy them now??

Took a good 10 minutes for the guy to persuade her she just needed new coils lol. Was tempted to pipe in and tell her to dry burn and clean them but she was just one of those dumb customers that a retailer could rip off week after week if they were so inclined and i just wanted the atlantis and get outta there :D

Many thanks guys. Its not so much the taste i want to replicate- its the strength.

What sort of strength should I be using?

Nicotine level in L&B and Regal is 0.9mg so should I be using e-juice rated at around that value?
I'm currently using "Vapourlites" e-liquid 10ml @ 18mg Nicotine but it feels a little strong. They also have 1.1% Nicotine but i wasn't sure if that would be soft.

Any help would be appreciated.

PS. Do need to maintain my clearomisers or my battery?!

You can't dry burn the Nautilus coils easily though, you'd have to remove all the wicking material from around them and then repack it all. It's easier to just replace the entire thing :p
