So I finally got my hands on my VTC Mini and Clieto last night, coming from the pretty simple Subvod I'm a bit overwhelmed with all the settings...What temp do we all like to tonk on? Messing about around 200-220 on about 42W and I'm getting some pretty decent flavours and clouds.

I was looking at the VTC before i got a Cloupor Plus.
Went for the Cloupor as its slightly smaller but might still go for a VTC too.

Yeah man.

If you're using normal Kanthal coils you want it in power mode and not temp control (Ti/SS etc.)

Haha...oops:p

Don't suppose any of you find folks should happen to know what all the temp settings should be at? Can't remember if I adjusted them whilst playing with it last night

TC on my RX200 is poo.

I got an urge to go back to TC, something I haven't used while I've had the RX200. First I tried dual coil, nickel, 28awg 12 wraps over 2.5mm, came in at an expected 0.07ohm. Anything under 590f would give instant 'temp protection' at 50w.

Then tried dual Ti, 26awg, 9 wraps over 2.5mm, came out around 0.13 iirc. Same issue, needs lower wattage and maximum temp to get any form of vape from it.

At this point I'm thinking its down to my dual coil TC skills, so I try a single coil, nickel, 10 wraps over 2.5mm, comes in at ~0.12, same issue, 600f and ~35-40w to get anything. Threw it on my IPV D2, resistance reads the same, lock it in and what was a 600f vape on the RX is ~450f on the D2.

Looks like its one for the 'power only' pile.

Anyone using a Wismec Reuleaux DNA 200? Any issues\feedback on it?

Looking for a regulated multi-battery solution as I'm getting fed up with changing batteries on the Sigelei 75w during the day.

Unless you need more than 100 watts of power there's plenty of dual battery options, but for a triple 18650 they not bad for the size.

The basically use the same parts with apart from the board, the 510 can be an issue being pushed down, and like previously said the DNA version grabs batteries wraps.

I wouldn't recommend charging the batteries in either mods, it's recommended that you swap the order of the batteries around, so you might as well take the batteries out to charge at the same time.

Current tankful turned from golden to crude oil today during use

I have a few juices that do this in certain tanks, the juice will get hot as the atty gets hot and it cooks the juice. Custard does this easily.

The Board in teh VTC Mini will automatically jump into power mode if you fire it with a Kanthal coil built atty attached, so no need to worry about being in the wrong mod, its just not possible to run Kanthal in TC mod on the VTC mini.

As for what the default TC setting were, dont worry, if your not in TC mode it wont have any effect and if you do get a TC coil on it in future, you set the temp to your taste, but i suggest starting at 200C or 420F.

As for the RX200 hitting Temp limit straight away, you either hit the coils with way too much power or you did not attach the atty when it and the mod were both at room temp and thus your base resistance was wrong... OR... your coils had a hotspot.

Anyone have issues or know of a resolution for the Aspire Cleito tank spitting juice 0.4ohm? I'm on my 4th coil in just under 2 weeks and it's doing my head in now. Also, it seems to leak juice through the bottom air holes.

Seems to be okay for a few days and then suddenly the coil either spits molten juice up which does burn my tongue or it spits raw juice up which tastes like crap.

I think its condensation build up in the chimney? Mines is bad with the stock coils. Picked up a few RBA bases and the problem isnt as bad

Got The new Aromiser on order was just going to buy the upgrade bits for the old one but then would miss out on the top filling which is a big selling point considering its the thirstiest tank i have.

Everything was at room temp, built and left it for 15 mins. I just tried SS, exact same behavior, which I know isn't hot spotting/hot legging as I can pulse it in power mode. I'll dust off my DNA200 mod tomorrow and see what happens on that.

Speaking of DNA/Evolv, apparently evolv are suing joyetech over patent infringement...https://search.rpxcorp.com/lit/cacdce-642108

There's not much public information out at the moment, but this is definitely happening. Evolv is going after use of VW technology in JT devices, and a lack of license of the 330 patent held by evolved, and was probably prompted after JT released the Reuleaux.

Specifically mentioned devices: Wismec Reuleaux RX 200, Wismec Presa Standard, Wismec Presa TC75W, Wismec Presa TC40W, Wismec VaporFlask series, Joyetech Cuboid, Joyetech eVic Series, Joyetech eGrip Series, Joyetech eCom wattage controlled, Joyetech eMode, and Eleaf iStick series.

Posted that in here at 9:30 this morning, looks like it must've been missed :P

Are there RBA bases for it now? Can I have a link please...
I picked one (clieto) up on Monday, had a few pulls, not impressed and went back to using my in'ax for the rest of the day...

What they fail to mention is cigarettes also contain diacetyl, and the average smoker will take in ~700x as much diacetyl than the average e-cig user. Many companies are on the case as well, I DIY so I'm out of the loop on juice brands but I know FlavourArt have no diacetyl in any of their flavourings, and TFA and Capella have released V2's and DX's that seek to eliminate the nasties in their flavours, and others are following suit.

In the interests of harm reduction, consider DIY juice or avoiding those juice makers that have overly sweet custardy creamy juices that don't have any mention of the diacetyl, acetoin etc. content or lack thereof. Rest assured though, that while ecigs will never be as safe as inhaling fresh air, they are certainly safer than smoking fags, even with some of the worst offending juices at high wattages.

Also, while the TPD (new EU regulation) is a bit heavy-handed, it does require all juices to be tested before being put for sale, so there's going to be more information available on what is and isn't in your juice, and hopefully this will only lead to it getting safer over time.

How to keep this short.. :D

YES some Eliquids contain Diacetyl - its what gives the pie crust \ cookie \ custardy flavors their flavor.

At this point we mention that no one has ever claimed E-cigs are 100% safe, they are a SAFER alternative.

One interesting point that these reports \ media scares neglect to mention is that Diacetyl is also found in normal cigarettes and generally 100x more of it. We also know quite a lot about the effects of normal cigarettes, we know how many thousands of people die each year as a direct result of smoking them.

Now seeing that Diacetyl is in normal cigarettes and at a much higher concentration, you would expect that we would have seen reports of pop corn long in smokers, i mean the media makes it sound like one puff on an ecig and you will be infected with it almost instantly :D the total reported number of pop corn lung in smokers is.... 0.

Use that info as you wish.

Also a good watch
