I want to start vaping and stop smoking, what should I buy guys?

Want something with a decent amount of vapor.

I'd say the "UD Balrog 70W TC Starter Kit", under 40 quid for the mod and tank, will do everything you want and more,(even SS)

Make sure you get 25+amp capable bats.

Decided to give a new tank and juice a try.

I wrote to my MP (Theresa May) asking her to support the motion in the House of Lords to remove e-cigs from the UK's TPD implementation and received a reply. The usual copy and paste crap about how the TPD will ensure that products aren't of bad quality and how it will prevent children from vaping

Theresa May said:
Dear Mr Riley,

Thank you for your email to Theresa May regarding e-cigarettes. I am sure she will appreciate your concerns.

We have been in touch with the Department of Health about this. The Government recognises that e-cigarettes help some smokers to quit and the evidence indicates that they are considerably less harmful to health than cigarettes.

The rules set out in the revised Tobacco Products Directive (TPD), published in April 2014, apply in the UK from 20th May 2016 and cover tobacco and smokeless tobacco products, herbal products and will, for the first time, regulate e-cigarettes. The Government has consulted on how to implement this.

Although e-cigarettes are helpful to some people wishing to quit smoking, the quality of products on the market remains highly variable. It is therefore important that proportionate regulation is introduced to ensure minimum safety requirements and that information is provided to consumers so that they can make informed choices. This is the aim of the regulatory framework set out in the TPD.

In implementing the new EU rules, the Government intends to work towards regulation that will permit a range of products to remain on the market which are positioned as alternatives to smoking, not as products that introduce children to vaping or smoking. E-cigarettes that are licenced by the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency will still be able to be advertised, and the advertising of all other e-cigarettes will no longer permitted on television.

I hope this reassures you that the new rules in the revised TPD do not aim to prevent people from using e-cigarettes, but rather to provide consumers with safer, less variable products.

Thank you again for writing.

Best wishes,

David Beckingham

Haul!

Nowhere near the full stock... but it's a nice haul. One customer begged me to have my one day old DNA200 rather than waiting til today for dispatch, so I let him have it... can you guess what box I opened first?

Tried an RX200 while I was waiting as well as going back to SMOK X Cube II and Vaporesso Tarot, amoung my other little mods... there's really something awesome about this DNA200 chip... I missed it while I didn't have it.

This arrived the other day too... good product and a decent price too... quite like it, I've been thinking about adding a few to my stock:

Just ordered one of these... they're a lot better in the flesh than they look in photos :)

A good starter setup is a Joyetech Cuboid Mini and Cubis tank. That will get you going and will support any kind of tank you throw at it in the future.

I don't like the Cuboid Mini very much... nor do my vaping friends... but it does seem to get good reviews.

But then I can't think of many with built-in batteries that I actually like... I prefer removable as a start.

I much prefer the eVic VTC Mini... although the tank isn't fantastic - the mod is awesome.

The SMOK Nano One comes with a much better tank and is very similar (almost identical) in size and shape to the eVic VTC Mini... but I think the buttons and screen are nicer on the Joyetech.

I was going to keep either a Nano One or VTC Mini and ended up with the VTC Mini but stuck a different tank on it.

Eleaf iStick Pico is a great starter kit too... the tank is much better than the Joyetech tanks, IMO.

Urgh red carded for the avocado 24 :(

It could be worse... you could have to wait until Tuesday to pick it up if it was a bank holiday... oh wait :p

Edit: Well erm, Awkward. It's Friday today not Saturday.. ^^

Currently trying the ECR_EU juice, I can't help that notice it tastes purely like Lime  non the less it's tasty, perhaps my palette isn't sophisticated enough :D

Thought you folks may appreciate some opinions on some of these I've now tried so far...

Menthol Molotov
Love this. Super fresh mint, imagine chewing airwaves gum on a cool winters morning. It genuinely does clear your sinuses and would be ideal for when you are blocked up with cold symptoms. Its clean, fresh and sharp without tasting overly chemical whegn vaped all day.

Mamma's Milk
Tastes very creamy with a slight strawberry exhale. Very mild and creamy vapour. However I've now tried enough dessert style juices to realise I prefer menthol or fruity.

Apple McPie
Although this is very innovative and does taste like the real thing, its just not for my tastebuds. I'm getting caramel, cream, vanilla, apple and cinamon. Strangely I'm even getting notes of pastry. I think my tongue especially has a distaste for caramel flavour juices.

Blue Slush
Was especially looking forward to this, as love blue slushies! Jury is still out on this, definitely getting a blue slush taste but too early to judge as; 1) my tastebuds are worn out after trying 3 flavours tonight and 2) fear this may not be a good everyday vape.

If anyone is interested, perhaps we can do some swaps to try out other flavours? Mammas Milk, Apple McPie at 90% full, I know now I wont like Dragons milk which is 100% full.

I'll keep updating this with my opinions on the other flavours. I'm going to try blue slush all day tomorrow for a fair try.

Tbh half of it makes sense, over 18 labels and child proof caps are already done for every juice i've seen.

Ingredients lists and testing are welcomed, makes sense as if a certain chemical is found dangerous then you can get rid of any juices you use that have it.

Tv advertising i coukdnt care less about, lack of tv advertisements didnt stop me smoking or starting vaping so not much use.

However i cannot and will not condone 10ml refill bottles nor 2ml tanks, thats only gonna make it a pita for no good reason. The reason vaping is so good is because its more convenient than smoking, allows "artificial" nicotine reductiin in a pain free way that hands you a lot of the benefits of quitting right out the gate.

Absolutely Adolf_hamster. There is some good things and the standardisation of labels etc are welcome. But, these could have been achieved by normal product safety legislation.
My beef is the concept of classing something that doesn't contain tobacco as a tobacco product.
The advertising may not apply to you or me as we're already vapers but I'm thinking about the smokers here, who now will find it more difficult to find out about the products. Also, banning advertising sends the wrong message that these things are as bad as tobacco cigarettes.

I turn 29 on Tuesday, decided .....for about the 3rd or 4th time........that now is the time to quit cigarettes altogether., but this time actually with help. I'd cut down and cut down but NO MORE!

Went out and got myself two different vapes, tried the cigarette look a likes first and they just seemed crap. I've got myself two Kangertech ones, one's a sub ohm one....which i bought without really researching the fact that i shouldn't have started with a subohm one :p but it's a kit, and I'm not going to go changing anything until i know more about it all.... also got a little one (EVOD)

Just spent the last 15 minutes working out what "priming the atomizer" meant, think i've done it right....the instructions that come with this thing look like they've been translated from Chinese though :D

Day 1 of no cigarettes begins today! :)

Yeah gl mate. I'll admit I found it pretty easy but know people that didn't. I'd say sub ohm isn't really the big thing it used to be. A new vaper can use sub ohm premade coils without any issue. There was a time when sub ohm was really for only advanced users (and still is in some ways, but that is something your not dealing with, with your kit) A shop bought sub ohm isn't any different to any other shop bought coil just happens to be less than an ohm of resistance.
