***The Vapers Lounge*** 3.0

The mad dogs a cracking dripper, tip for it, build at least 3.5mm ID coils and leave the airflow wide open!

Would like to hear your thoughts on the Skywalker too!

First impressions:
I built the Mad Dog according to your advice - 2X 6 turns of 26/32 Kanthal clapton wire @ 3.5mm and built the Skywalker with identical coils. Both reading 0.28ohms. I've tried both with the same juice and both are thoroughly enjoyable. Both cloudy at 60 watts and great flavour. I would say the Skywalker is a bit airier than the Mad Dog - it's about as airy at 3/4 as the Mad Dog is fully open. I found the Skywalker slightly easier to build. Both look good and vape well but I'd give the edge to the Skywalker - it is easier to build, has better airflow options (it has single coil capabilty) and it also comes with a squonk pin (lookng forward to giving that a try soon).

I'll grab a Skywalker tomorrow, sounds a decent dripper, and for what it will cost tomorrow (£9) it would be rude not to :D

the relevance is strong with this one!

Haha :D

Hey, if he's spending money, always good to make a saving where possible :p

New mod and a Skywalker for me tomorrow I reckon.

I'd actually forgot about the thing until I saw your post, when I'd last looked it was on pre-order, now showing in stock :)

Like the atty stand btw :D

That was a small one I printed that didn't turn out right. Useful for taking pics though. The big main one turned out a lot better :)

Looks better then my slab of wood with some holes drilled in it :p

Ordered a skywalker in silver and a battlestar in camo green (was the least rancid colour they had in stock)!

200ml for £20, cant complain :)

Hey guys, i use to vape with my own sub ohm coils. I stopped for a few years but find myself looking to get back onto vaping for the sake of stopping smoking once more. I am looking to recreate the thickness that i had in my old dripper but in a more modern box mod + tank set-up for the following reasons:

-more battery life from extra battery's
-pre-purchased ready made sub ohm coils
-variable wattage
-Tank to avoid the mess from pocketing an over filled dripper when drunk
-Built in charging port

Basically, i am looking to get back into vaping thick and heavy vapour again without having to tweak and mess around with making coils. So looking for some recommendations for a VW box mod and tank combo. I can't remember what wattage i use to vape at and despite not ever finding my set-ups too hot, to me things like a 200w mod as i have been seeing advertised, sound's silly high. I'd like the option to experiment on the settings to really up the amount vapour if i find going back to a tank a bit on the lacklustre side.

I don't really have a budget. I remember spending about £80 on a set up before and dont mind going higher if it nets me bells and whistles that i will use. My main reason for stopping before is that the novelty of making my own coils and experimenting wore off, so looking for a fairly quick out of the box package with some decent performance. I think i still have the batteries but given their age and their constant use before, i would feel safer with fresh ones if anyone has recommendations.

200w on 2 batteries isnt that realistic, but the more modern 3 and 4 battery mods are closer to it.

Personally i'd reccommend a tfv8+rx2/3 combo as from my own experience that'll give you what you want, and the rx2/3 so far has had no problems regularly chucking 150w into the troll v2 as a daily.

Be warned- smok premade coils ime have some terrible qc, if you're in any way adept at making your own then the included rba is going to be a much better experience for long lasting cloud chucking.

I'm sure pgi will be along in a bit to provide some other options.

Cleito 120 ftw

Cheers mate, i will look into it. When i started vaping, there wasn't many VW mods and most of them were ghetto DIY jobbies/sketchy easter copies or super premium expensive things. Since i was using just a standard 18650 mechanical type mod with a dripper, fussing with coils was fairly straight forward eg. test coil/multiple coils in an ohmeter and work out what sort of current draw i will get for the sake of safety. I am not quite sure how it works with a VW mod as the power is set by the user. To get a thicker vape I used multiple coils on a sub ohm resistance but since it was single battery, i was never hitting the kind of power some of these VW mods claim to get and putting in the same sort of coil setup seems suicide.

Basically, if i can control power with these devices, what sort of total resistance am i looking for to replicate the sort of hit and vapour to my old 18650 mech mod (with a total resistance of 0.2-0.4 ohm) with maybe a bit more ohmph?

I wanted to avoid testing out loads of coils again and was thinking of just buying pre-mades but if QC is pretty bad, i'll have to get into it again.

I would like one of these beastly 150+W mods mainly for versitility but i will probably use it on the lower power end of the scale 50-100w. I do like the look of the RX2/3 you recommended, the extra battery space is a big plus. I am not into being the biggest cloud in the pub but i really enjoy the density of a really thick vape

What is a good website to buy from? ebay seems full of fakes and i dont trust it to buy batteries from.

Fogstar for batteries.

You don't need to go super sub ohm and smash 100w+ for a dense vape, most of my builds come out in the .2 - .3 range and are at their best in the 60-80w range.

The key to a dense vape IMO is tweaking airflow :)

the modern vw mods have plenty of safety built in, you won't be able to fire below the specified limit of the mod. unlike mech mods you don't need to worry about over-draw causing a potential blowout.

i wouldn't get too worried about actual resistance, coil type, coil mass, and air flow matter more. perfect example is the stock tfv4, stock tfv5 and my current troll v2's coils all read .16ohms, but the cloud production is not the same between the 3. as pgi says, a .24 ohm juggernaut will put out more than .16 ohm of 26awg in the right setup.

my theory, flawed as it is, is that a big mod will be able to run low power as much as high power. in the 50-100w range a 2 battery mod will do the job, and the rx2/3 could never be described as pocket friendly, but if you want one mod to power everything then going bigger isn't a bad move.

Ahh i need a mod i can put in a jacket pocket but can throw out the extra power if i need. I dont see myself going much past 100w.

What is your favourite build so far in that sort of range, as that is what i am looking to end up with.
