After my previous test of different tanks (snipped above) I bought a replacement tip for the Kanger T2. The plastic tip now has 4 clips on it to hold the metal screw thread in place. It works quite nicely, holding everything together. The tank's been in my pocket for about a week now and I haven't had any leaks at all.
The only problem with the tank is the short wick. Like all the other short wick tanks, after a few drags, it dries out and you have to tip the tank to wet it which is really starting to annoy me.
I have had another delivery: A Vivi Mini Nova.
Like the full size Vivi Nova it arrived in a nice presentation box:
And comes with three heads of 1.8, 2.4 and 2.8Ohms. The 1.8 is fitted:
The Nova strips down completely to make cleaning very easy. Unlike the full size Nova, though, it comes with long wicks fitted:
A couple of pics to show it's size, compared to the full size Nova (I've swapped the tip on the full size nova) and sitting on a 650mAh battery:
There's not as much room to fill the Mini as there is in the full size Nova (sorry the photo's a bit blurry), but it's certainly not difficult to do or any worse than any of the other tanks.
Compared to the full size Nova the design is slightly improved with the knurled metal-work being larger and much easier to grip when taking the Mini apart
I started using the fitted 1.8ohm head with a standard eGo battery and I hate to say it but the taste was slightly off. It wasn't burning dry but there was something not quite right about it that I just couldn't put my finger on.
I wanted to try it on my LavaTube but it wouldn't pick up the Mini. I'm still not sure if it's my LavaTube that isn't working properly though.
I put the Mini on my eGo C upgrade that can turn off the voltage regulation and it improved but there was still something odd about the taste of it.
It's annoying because I cannot figure out what's wrong, it just tastes odd!
I'll stick with it for a few days then switch to one of the other heads and let you know how it goes.
Still, it produces plenty of vapour, looks and fits better on the eGo battery (doesn't wobble about at all) and because of the long wick doesn't burn dry very often, at least until the tank gets quite low, but that's a fairly standard problem with all the tanks.
It costs around twice as much as the other tanks at about £11 but feels like it has a better construction and feels more solid than the other tanks so I'd say it was worth the price. The replacement heads are comparable to the other tanks at around £2.50 a piece.
I'm very close to recommending it except for the slightly off taste. Like I say, I'll try it for a few more days then put a different head on and see what happens.
At the moment though, I'll be sticking with the Vision eGo V3 as my main tank of choice.
