As an afterthought: my new Nova should be with me in a day or 2 so I can see what all the fuss is about. I really want it to be good, but I'm worried my VG juices aren't going to wick very well and will require some wick fiddling to sort. Should look nice on my LT though :D

After a week, I've decided CE4s are still ****. No juice I've tried, VG or PG, wicks well and they always end up giving a burnt plastic taste even at 3.5V. bleh. Anyone want the new spare that came with my LT? It's going in the bin otherwise, but don't say I didn't warn you.

Can you describe the aftertaste you're experiencing? It might be an issue with the atty you're using that we can help you resolve.

I don't think it's a problem I just think there is a distinct taste caused by one of the mixing agents in the juices. I owned an ecig about a year ago and the aftertaste was the same (albeit a lot worse since the standards in vaping seem to have improved) its more muted now but definitely there. If I had to describe it I would compare it to black olives, I originally thought it was just the poor tobacco flavour of my old ecig, but the fruity flavours also have it. I wonder if it has something to do with the PG or VG ratios?

possibly, some liquids use a nicotine base that has a distinct flavour to it. Good mixing liquids should be flavourless, but VG does add a slight sweetness. Try El Toro, and if you don't like it I'll buy it off you. I'm waiting for the 50ml to come back in stock, but if you are one of the minority that don't like it, I'll either swap you some atties or just buy it. It's very "not e cig" and has a very natural taste to it. If you don't like tobacco flavours it probably isn't for you though.

Ill be sure to give it a bash matey, will have to wait until I get paid paid though as I think ive spent far too much this month so far! I have high hopes for Pixie Juice coming through with a tasty flavour, my order with them should be arriving tomorrow.

Thanks :)

I think it is likely the nicotine base that you can taste. Some bases still have a flavour left over from the tobacco. In fact some of the longer term vapers like it and want it in flavours that don't have it. Most of the Chinese juices have it. I would have described it more as a peppery taste.

In that case I might order a nicotine free juice to try, the Grizwalds samples I ordered were 20mg, the Pixie Juice stuff I ordered is 12mg. If it is the nicotine im happy to vape without it, as long as the taste and throat hit are to my liking.

You can use either the white bit or the drip tip. A was using the white bit for ages and only started using a tip when Vape Escape sent a free one with an order. Much of a muchness I find.

Try some Dekang Triple Menthol it always tastes great.

vapeescape don't have that one :(

It isn't the nicotine itself but impurities left in the base after it is extracted. I can't be 100% sure. You'll hear people say things like PG is flavourless but if you vape it on itself own it does have a taste. Sure it is like water were it isn't really a taste if you get me but you know something is there. I'm guessing it is the base because it is likely the strongest taste you'll get in different flavoured juice.

I've washed and dried one of my CE4's and it seems to be ok so far with mintoff from VE. I'm wondering if what I've read on the net is true - that its important to keep the wicks well soaked to avoid burning and letting this darkened fluid run back into the tank?

I like the convenience of these things and if I'm truthful I always mess up filling the Boge carto's and land up with it leaking!

I've been using the mini vivi nova from vape escape, just using the 1.8ohm coil it came fitted with, on an Ego battery...it's very good, easily the best of it's type that I've tried, much better than the vision ego stuff I had.

Well the Pixie Juice arrived, much better flavours than the Grizwalds but the weird aftertaste is still there :( I will vape them as they actually taste ok but still disappointing. El Cigarillos looks like my only hope!

Are you using cartomisers? If so, are you letting them soak properly?

e: With the Joytech Ego-C, can I use standard low resistance cartomisers or do I need to go for an atomiser setup? I much prefer using cartomisers :(

No its an atty and tank system. Although I know nothing about it, ive just filled the tank and plugged it in, didnt think there was anything else that needed to be done?

There isn't really, although some juices like to steep for a while after opening (a few days), but with premixed liquids it isn't really an issue. With cartomisers you need to let the liquid soak all the way through the wick, but with tanks it's only really a matter of taking a few dry hits to get the liquid going before vaping. Some atties need a bit of breaking it to get through the primer that they come soaked with, but you should be through that by now.

Got off the Chinese atties and get a genesis loaded with some El-Torro. :)

Seriously though I had the same, not a pleasant flavour tainting my vaping experience.
I was always after that pure tasting vape, with no aftertaste of burnt wick or cheap nic.
Solved it the nic problem with expensive DIY nic mixers like Neat54,(I get Unflavoured nicotine liquid from Nicvape now, as good and totally flavourless like the Neat54, though a fraction of the price.) though was still getting that nasty wick taste, untill I went genesis.
I had some satisfaction with, Alien Visions Boba's Bounty, Gorilla Juice and Raf-a-Licious and then I found El-Torro. El-Torro is seriously out of this world juice and made the AV's stuff taste like very childish in comparison. There is simply nothing like it and it screams quality like a fine malt whiskey, or Swiss chocolate.

The crux of the matter, if you have any kind of palatte is, you'll want to throw that Tornado out, that is i.m.o. where the flavour problem is. All of that kind of kit has a nasty aftertaste i.m.o., like all the cheap chinese atties.

I'd say try a VIVI Nova for starters, better still go for a genesis rebuildable. There is a steepish learning curve getting them working fine, though 100% worth it for vapour satisfaction.

Bit of a rambling post, though I would put the problem you are having down one of two things, or both. Cheap kit, or what I would call bad juice.

OK guys, HELP NEEDED! :D

I've come down to London until Tuesday for Frightfest, and left my bloody 14500 charger at home. I do have 2 spare sets of batteries that I think are charged, but the likelihood of that lasting 6 days is low.

So, does anyone know a specialist electronics shop in/around central London, or Crouch End/Archway where I could pick up a charger suitable for these? I assume a 2.4v AA battery charger is likely to make them explode or something if I try it!

Alternatively, if anyone here would be so kind as to meet around the West End area tomorrow afternoon/daytime to loan me a charger I would be MUCH in your debt, and can meet again on Monday/Tuesday to give it back, or post it back down to you once I get home.

Pretty please please pleeeaaasssse? Thanks for any help given, folks!

oops! Best bet is to get one ordered next day delivery to wherever you're staying?

Sound advice. Your batts should last that long. I could post you a charged ego battery if you get totally stuck :P

Sitting here hovering over the checkout on a couple of sites, but it's still a gamble depending on when they ACTUALLY ship the item.

So, I'm going to tough it out, dammit! I'll be vaping much less than usual anyway, since I'll be in a movie theater for most the day. If the batteries run out, then whatever, I'll suck it up (not literally, as I'll have no battery power to do so). Not going to let it rule me like that anymore. :)

I'm SURE as hell not going to back to cigarettes so who knows. If the batteries die and I just have to tough it out, maybe that'll be the push I need to just jack in the nicotine game entirely. Only win/win for me.

Vapour room are very good they usually post on the day for me.

Link to this post when you buy and i'm sure you'll get a bat on fri.

Unfortunately i dont have any spare m8 otherwise i would have sorted you out
