Bennie once you've been off the rollies a few weeks, you won't want one that genuinely tastes like tobacco because you realise (if you have a drag again a while after you quit) how awful tobacco actually tastes :D

Guys I think I'm in love with Mintoff and RY4 from VE.

I'm guessing I put a little too much in at one point as some was on my battery contacts. I've cleaned this off now so I'm guessing when the carto's look dry they actually aren't!

The tank that came with my riva kit - If I fill this up will it leak if its laid flat? I'm about to order some more cartos for when these run out (I used three of the five in the kit trying different flavours but think mintoff or RY4 will be my daily vape). How long are you finding a carto will last?

Thanks all :)

I have a horrible feeling that I'm going to be lynched but I have a couple of questions...

How much better are the devices discussed in this thread over things like the 10 Moments and E-Lites disposables?

Are any of the chemicals used in the vapors dangerous?

How do you know how much nicotine you get with each drag?

Bit of context - I have smoked rollies and straights for ten years and wish to stop. I've tried both the 10 Moments and E-lights disposables and they are being surprisingly helpful.

Thanks :)

Well ive ordered a Griswalds sample pack, havent ordered any tobacco flavoured ones yet as to be honest I really like the idea of a "fruity cigarette" so im hoping ill be a convert :) Im pretty sure I remember reading about Griswalds juice being good on here...

Wasnt really sure what to go for so I just picked 5 random flavours I liked the sound of. Went for Arctic Lemon, Caramel Cappucinno, Coconut Mint, Manilly Vanilly and Strawberry Ice Cream  Looking forward to everything arriving!

In my experience, much better. You get a better throat hit, longer use and more vapour from the larger devices.

I would only ever buy the disposables if I found myself in a situation where I couldn't access my normal kit.

Are any of the chemicals used in the vapors dangerous?

In a nutshell 'no'.

There is one ingredient contained in some liquids called "Diacetyl" (used to make butter type flavourings) which is suspected to have been the cause of 'popcorn lung', a condition that affected some US popcorn factory workers a few decades ago.

However the liquids that use diacytal are very few and only odd flavours like the aforementioned popcorn flavour for example would contain it. e-liquid makers have been working to eradicate it entirely and may have done so since I last checked up on this issue (a year ago or so now). The other major factor here is that even if you do regularly vape liquids with diacytal in it's unlikely to cause any issues given the tiny amounts you are inhaling (comparing the popcorn factory workers that were inhaling tons of the stuff).

How do you know how much nicotine you get with each drag?

I can remember the exact figures but basically you absorb slightly less than you would from a 'real fag', but this is counter balanced by the fact you use stronger liquid. For example I used to smoke 'lights' which were about 11mg but I vape juice which is 18mg.

You'll know what is the right level for you, if you are getting head rushed after vaping you need less and if it's not satisfying our cravings then you need more.

You'd love the 'proper' models then I'd say.

The guys in this thread suggested the Riva 1100 Deluxe kit from vapeescape.co.uk to me and so far I'm very very happy with it :) May I suggest some of the RY4 liquid which I am just about to place a big bottle order for as I find it quite lovely :)

PS any takers for my tank question?

Edit : Tank is the incorrect term I believe, its a clearomiser? It has a 1.6ml tank capacity?

The V2 that they advertise on the website says it can be laid flat or vertical but not sure it applies to this one?

RY4 is the juice to vape (IMHO), I mix my own and make 100 ml batches at a time. Might just make a litre of the stuff next time :D

Well all my stuff arrived about an hour ago, as suspected the supplied tobacco flavour is rather terrible, but the Ego-C is a great piece of kit, very pleased. Im using the Arctic Lemon flavour for now, and its quite pleasant if a little medicinal tasting, however I should have guessed it would be a cooling inhale from the "Arctic" in the name, not a huge fan of that but getting used to it.

Quick question though, im getting a throat hit, but I find its actually mildly burning/irritating, is there any particular reason for this? Maybe the nicotine is too high or something?

Also with regards to the atomizers, can you wash them? I would like to try all the flavours I have but I only have 5 atomizers and if I remember correctly its best to change them when you change flavours? Perhaps I made that last bit up?

Cheers :)

I thought that about the throat hit when I first got my ecig. Don't worry, its just a different beast compared to smoke, so it takes a little getting used to. You will be chasing the throat hit soon enough! Wait till you go on a night out lol

Hi, just found this thread.

I've been using a Tornado - T for about a year now with mainly TW Red Tobacco liquid (36mg) and find it great most of the time.

When its not so good is if I'm out and about - it then has a tendency to flood and leak.

I generally buy about 6 months worth of gear at a time once a good sale is on and will have to re-order soon.

Just wondered if there is anything better that I should maybe try?

This is turning out to be a lot more expensive than smoking! :p Just placed an order with Pixie Juice for a few of their flavours, thats about £100 spent so far...

If it gets me off the cigs though its well worth it :)

Yeh it can be. But once you settle down on a flavor it shouldnt cost too much. Im buying one 30ml bottle every 35-40 days, attys are only costing me about £16 for 5 (last me months and months - longer when i buy some gause) and a new battery every 4 months.
I go through about a 1.1ml tank a day

I went on to Smok Mega dual coil cartomisers (think I put a link in the OP), and they have been a revelation from the tornado tanks I used. The other guys on here are more up to date with the newer gear, but I've yet to find anything better so far myself.

Once you settle down and find your preferred flavours it might be worth looking into mixing your own juice. It can seem daunting at first, but it's actually dead easy and saves a huge amount.

I think you might have a CE4 clearomiser (google it to check), in which case you can do what you like with it. I got some with my lavatube and I'm having some terrible wicking issues with them (dry plastic-y taste after a few drags), so maybe for your next batch try something different. Cartomisers seem to be the best cheap/reliable/low maintenance atty in my experience. Although they don't show you how much juice is in them. I occasionally overfill mine and have them leak out the bottom lol. Easily sorted with some kitchen towel though!

As to whoever asked about washing atties: you can, in most cases, rinse them out with warm water and leave them to dry for a few days. I usually just vape them nearly dry with a grimace and then fill up with my new juice, but it's not a very good method and I don't recommend it! I'm just lazy.

Well I must say I'm very disappointed in all the eliquids I've bought, the Arctic Lemon is nice enough but it has it's flaws, but at the minute it's by far my preferred vape. The rest are really quite horrible.

I'm in need of nice fruity flavours to try out as they seem better than flavours trying to replicate a specific taste, so any recommendations? Ordered the cherry off pixie juice along with the mint choc chip ice cream so have high hopes for those.

I'm really enjoying TW's gold standard blueberry atm. It tastes like blueberry pie filling. Very accurate flavour though with none of the synthetic candy taste many fruit liquids have. Also, decadent vapours lotus flower is great. It's fragrant and lively in a sort of refreshing way. I can't really describe it, but it's good.
