The cartomisers should come pre-filled, but you can always rinse them out, let dry and then use a liquid of your choice after vaping what's in there. Alternatively, you can pick up replacement carto's and fill them yourself once the supplied ones wear out. There's a good guide video on filling cartos here

If you're starting out, I recommend going for 11mg or 18mg nicotine strength juice depending on how much you currently smoke, just until you find your groove. Some flavours are great, others are rank, so it's just a case of finding one you like as your tastebuds come back to life.

OK, thanks. So the description has this:

  • 6 x Tobacco Cartomizers (3 x 18mg, 1 x 11mg, 1 x 8mg, 1 x 0mg)

So presumably that's 5 filled with varying strengths and one empty one (which I can add my own liquid to)? In which case this starter kit will do just to see if I get along with it.

Yep, except the last one is zero nicotine, but will have flavour and vapour. It isn't empty.

Let us know how you get on so we can help you through any teething issues you might have. The first 2 weeks are usually a bit tricky to adjust, but after that you should find your groove.

Just fired up my Vision eGo Kit - CE4 - 650mAh with the clearomiser it comes with and oh my, does it pack a punch.

Much more vapour than my SD Keyring and the throat hit made me splutter the first few goes. All in all, seems good! Still using Dekang Triple Menthol as well.

Just seen they have released the SD Maxi as well. Might have gone for that if it had been out when I had ordered but I am not complaining.

Hi guys. After many years of smoking I went on the VIP route with their E-Cigs, the ones you screw in the filter thing. I got on well with them and found out not long ago they have started doing liquid ones now. I went and got the starter set with the basic 10ml 24mg E-Liquid and I find it whole lot better all round. I am wondering if the set I have will be ok if I got some other brand of E-Liquid and used that instead of the VIP liquid. I know quality varies etc from one brand to the next but what are your thoughts? Can I use non-VIP liquids in my new VIP Clearomiser?

Ok after two weeks of vaping I've decided I hate cartomisers, they dry/burn out if you don't keep them topped up with juice far too easily and if you keep them topped up is difficult to get the balance right which most of the time ends up with a gob full of juice.

Atomiser the way forward? What do I need for an atomiser?

How do you fill them up? I use the rubber ends that protect the cartomisers to fill mine. Just squirt some juice into one of the ends and then push the carto into it, bottom end first. Soaks the carto really well and I only need to top it up once a day :)

Ye i do it that way too, just can't get it right.

Either tastes like I haven't filled it enough like the wick is burning... Like I'm smoking the fibres, can hardly taste the juice.

If I put more in then I just get a mouthful. It's not the juice I'm using thats weak in flavour either, I had a cartridge last week i was using for like 4 days, tasted awesome. It got a bit manky, threw it out and the other 4 out of the 5 i've tried using just taste like crap again.. Dry and burnt.

I gave up using those after having exactly the same problems as you're having. For the past 8 weeks now I've been using the eGo Vision tanks and they're actually very good - flavor is consistently good, vaper production is great, and generally they're my 'holy grail' of vaping - good enough to keep me off the real thing for 2 and a bit months now.

If you do try them, I'd recommend spending the little bit extra and getting the rebuildable ones - they're easier to clean, and cheaper to fix if you need a new atty for example.

Only real downside is that the flavor tends to 'fade' slightly after about 2 weeks so a careful clean (leave the wicks soaking in water for a few hours, and blowing out from the bottom to dislodge the gunk in the atty) is required but generally painless.

I hope that helps fella!

I'm 3 days into my vaping career now and I'm pretty impressed. The Microlite starter kit is pretty impressive, haven't had a fag since it turned up, not bad for a 25 year, 20-30 a day smoker.

I've refilled my cartomizers once (some with Virginia, one with blueberry, both from vapeescape.co.uk) using the method described above and haven't had any issues.

Overall, pretty happy. Will probably want to upgrade to something a bit more consistent and luxurious at some point, but all good for now.

Helps a bunch! Cheers! Going for the Imist.

With that said, got some cartomisers going for nowt if anyone is interested.

That's not "really" a tank, so to speak, and will require either an eGo style battery, or an adapter if your battery has only a 510 thread available. Which type of batteries are you using at the moment?

If just a 510, would be worth giving the Vivi Mini Nova a try. Quite liking mine, even though I've hated every single clearomiser I've ever tried. Using a thicker VG-based liquid (OK Smokey) it sometimes can be a bit fiddly/juicey getting it to wick but overall good stuff.

Oh I went for the pack. It comes with batteries, I have the eGo batteries which also fit on it.. :)

Glad to hear you're getting on well with the kit. It's amazing how well an e-cig replaces an analogue isn't it? I think after a couple weeks I didn't even miss them. Let us know if you hit any bumps in the road and we'll try to sort you out. More likely you'll get "shiny syndrome" and want an upgrade sooner though :p

I saw that vapeescape had a new Kanger T2 tank: a massive 5ml tank.

I liked the idea of filling a tank in the morning and not needing to fill it for the rest of the day. Having used the original T2 tank and was impressed by it (after replacing the standard tip) I was looking forward to trying it out.

First off: It's big. Here it is sitting next a 650mAh battery and a ruler for size comparison (sorry for the blurry picture).

And on the battery:

Also because of the shape of the connector it won't fit on a lavatube, which is a shame.

The 5ml tank strips down a lot more than the original, much like the other tanks I've tried and should make it easy to clean.

While the heads come with long wicks, which I really do like, they're currently only available in 2.4Ohms. I'm hoping some lower resistance do become available.

So, on to using it (I'm using the VE RY4 that I've used for my other tank reviews, and my daily vape): Filling it was easy. There was lots of room for the liquid to feed into the tank.

Unfortunately...

It just didn't work very well. At both the standard voltage and higher voltage that the eGo-C upgrade works at there wasn't much vapour produced and very little taste.
Also the tank leaks ever so slightly. Not so much so that the liquid actually comes out of the tank but it leaks into the central air column so that there's an odd "gurgling" when it's used - blowing the liquid out every now and again sorts this but it has to be done too often.

I wanted to like this tank but I can't recommend it all.
Stick with the original, smaller, T2 tank (with the replacement tip) or the Vivi Nova Mini.

Ive read and posted here that these tanks need a break in period and benefit greatly from a dry burn, with the wick dry and the tank empty give 5 5 second burns then fill and use, this is supposed to greatly enhance flavor and vape experience.

as for the leaking down the central post i think it is just a common issue with these tank systems, my ego clearo 4 rebuildable with the removable atty head does the same and needs cleaning out now and again. id like a proper rebuidlable tank with contact posts and atomizer completely outside the tank but they seem harder to source in the uk and decent ones seem to be around £50

I did do the 5 second burns before using it and was using it over about 3 or 4 hours. The flavour did improve ever so slightly but not enough to be acceptable. Maybe I didn't give it long enough though, I'll try it again tonight and see if it improves anymore.

The liquid in the central column is a real problem though
I have had the same thing happen in other tanks but never as bad as this before. After 2 or 3 drags it became unusable until I blew the liquid out. It was just too much hassle to use it.

Thx for review of T2 Tank, useful stuff!

Anyone know if there is much of a difference between Vision ego's (v3) and the Mini Nova? Been using the ego's for a while and they're a heck of a lot better than the tornado tanks I was using. Need to replace a couple now and was thinking about trying the mini.

Oh, and has anyone rewicked a Vision ego atty? Got a couple where the wick is a bit singed (my bad!), but no idea what wick to use (looks like cotton?).
