Hmm... I have some prezapped norez/rez/norez wires rated at 1.5 OHMs for use in my Sophia and they come out as 1.5 ohms no matter how I wrap the coils. They look pretty tightly packed to me. Will try again tonight and see if I can test this theory - assuming I don't crack all the ceramic cups trying to do it (again)... ;)

I could be wrong, but certainly any time I've shorted two wraps by mistake it has dropped the resistance a lot. Just use a multi meter on a length of wire, then wrap it into a microcoil and see what it comes to after you heat it into one piece. Maybe if the wraps touch neatly all the way around then it balances out as it is travelling through the same amount of wire.

Just a warning about the 50% menthol it will blow your head off. You are talking drops not mls in a mix. It was Pete at DV that posted to make it this way cheap and easy years ago.

I'm glad you said that! I think I might start with the JoosJoos stuff to see how I get on with menthol first to be safe.

I make my own menthol concentrate.
Yes you do add the 5g tub of crystals ( grind them first to powder) into a 10ml bottle.
It will fill it, but you add 10 ml of PG and it will dissolve. Even put bottle into a bowl of hot water to help it dissolve.

This is a concentrate, so just add 5% or 15 drops to 9.5ml to your ready made base.
I have read that also adding some peppermint or spearmint concentrate really brings it to life

Where do you get your crystals from?

I officially need a new device on the cheap. My SVD seems to be dying a death, something to do with the threads on the tube (twisting it seems to fix it, but no amount of cleaning solves the issue). What are people recommending these days for a VW/VV mod? I have my nemmy clone as backup, but my microcoils keep breaking overtime and the resistance goes up until a mech is no good.

Hi guys, I'm thinking it might be time to update the OP again. It seems to me that there is little point I posting recommended kits as they change so quickly.

Any thoughts on anything you'd like to see there so you can direct newcomers to it?

It's more likely to do with wicking on your MVP. But for higher wattage, it is more about sub ohm coils, yeah.

For example, a 0.2 Ohm build on a fresh 4.2 volt battery is around 88 Watts. A 0.1 Ohm build pumps out a bit over 17 watts. One of my mates fires a 0.08 ohm coil just now, which is 220 watts on a fresh battery. The 52 Amps os a bit scary down there though.

Yeah that's practically short-circuit levels. Stuff like that is what causes you to lose teeth from exploding mods in your face. I'll stick to the 1Ohm and above territory.

Am I missing out on any groundbreaking tech these days? I'm still plugging away on my igo-w clone and nemmy clone (although I think I need lower than the 1.2ohm micro coil on it atm), and my SVD is playing up like hell so yet again I'm debating trying a different VW mod. Not a big fan of the big box mods, although it seems the MVP is very well regarded. It just seems so chunky!

I know you guys mainly buy premium liquids, but what concentrates are worth going for? Getting incredibly bored of my collection and am desperate for a new all day vape. Maybe a good coffee? Seems hard to find one that isn't rank.

Plume Veil or Magma (clones) or a Mutation X (Authentic) would be worth a go. Check out Grey Haze, Elegant Vapour or Angelfire Mods.

As for mods, loving my rDNA and custom SX350 box. Not cheap mind you. There's also the ZNA's, Sigelei 50 and 100W boxes.

MVP v3 due soon, hang on for that, if anything it means the v2 will be cheaper.

ELeaf iStick is an amazing box for the price and its tiny too, just hard to find in stock.

:)

EDIT: Or the new VAMO V6 (from China) - same body, new chip. http://www.fasttech.com/products/3032/10009229/1848801

Cheers I will definitely check those sites out. I feel like I have done the vamo thing (back in the v2 days!) and the build quality wasn't great back then. Not sure if the v6 is more solid. Might check these box mods out, but it's hard to get my head around the size of them. Also not too sure about the integrated battery. I tend to charge one set of batts overnight while using another set for my bedtime vape.

New issue I'm having: Halfway through movember and I have noticed that my exhaled vapour condenses on my moustache. It's really irritating.
#firstworldproblems

Bought a vamo v7 from slowtech. Sick of the floating pin grommets crapping out eventually so the adjustable pin should solve that. As long as the board doesn't crap out on me then it should be a winner. My SVD is just wrecked, but it has had a good run.

Hmm, so it does or doesn't hold a certain amount of eliquid in it and it wicks it like usual, instead you put drops of liquid on it every time you want to vape or something and keep doing it every puff? confused much haha!

Honestly I thought the same at first, but after years of messing about with flooding and dry burning with tanks I wouldn't go back unless something very special came out. Dripping works perfectly all the time and is not as much hassle as it sounds. It's also really easy to rewick a dripper since you can just yank out your cotton and thread some more in. £5 from fasttech is worth a go :)

Sounds interesting but seems like a lot of messing about I mean I was annoyed at filling up my mini pro tank 2 every 20 mins of vaping and now on my kayfun im filling up every hour lol still a lot of messing about. Tho saying that two days in a row now iv built a duff coil, last one lasted a week but past two meh mustn't of been concentrating lol

Nah it's dead easy. You just bring a squeezy bottle of juice with you and when you need to top up you just yank the drip tip off and squirt a bit in. I regularly do it when I'm driving at a traffic light (or a straight road but that's not recommended). Give it a go, worth a punt.

Ya know what I might get one to give it a go, any recommendations on a good cheap dripper? Around 20 - 25 quid budget? :)

I really want a kayfun 4 just so I can get to the coil without draining all the time and keep a eye on it lol. But can't afford one so guess ill try a dripper

£25? Lol no!

How about $5?

That will give you a taster, and if you love it you can always buy something a bit nicer. I run that atty with a single micro coil and cotton wick, and I recommend doing the same. Once a week I yank the old cotton out, dry burn the crud off the coil, and thread new cotton in. Job done. I've had the same coil in there for about 4 months now!

Protip: the airhole really needs to line up roughly with the coil or you will get insane throat hit.

As above, there are certainly better atties, but I figured you might as well give it a go for next to nothing, and if you like it then you can start a collection of drippers ;)
