I had horrendous anxiety (I still do tbh, which sucks) when I tried to quit smoking cold turkey. Part of that can be dizziness, but if you've never had anxiety before then it may just be some mad craving. I can't say I've ever had that effect any time I've had to go without vaping for an extended period though eg 6hrs plus.

Don't think I've ever gone 30hrs without vaping yet! I used to get terrible stomach cramp/unsettled feeling when I didn't smoke for a while, but cutting down seems a good way to taper off and avoid any severe physical cravings. Patches tend to have tonnes of Nic in them so I would be wary of that route.

You guys and your premade liquids baffle me. I have no doubt they're tasty, but sooo expensive! That said, I'm running low on pg and Nic so it's time for my annual stock up! Any recommendations on concentrates while I'm at it? I've been vaping my home made custard for ages and I'm a bit bored. Maybe something nutty or tobacco? Maybe a good menthol? Maybe both! It's my birthday after all :D

Lesson learnt. Never take your mech mod in 18350 mode on a night out :-(

Dropped it, the magnets in the nemmy clone smashed into about 30 pieces and the mod was stuck whilst firing. Was VERY hot as you'd imagine and it wasn't until it was fully discharged that I could pick it up again. It all works and I've put the spring back in there but that's a nemmy clone and castle RBA scratched to the high heavens :-(!!

Doh!!

I put magnets in my nemmy clone and they were shattered within 10 minutes. Spring ftw. Always use that lock!

Vaping has been banned at my workplace. Stated reason "The unknown effects of the fumes on people's health" I wouldn't mind but I work on a dock ffs.

Brutal. We have to vape in a designated location (I managed to get us out of the smoking area at least) which is a bike shelter near the building. Apparently it's because it would be distracting and might look bad when visitors come to the office. I miss vaping at my desk, but at least it forces me to take breaks and walk about!

Yeah I remember being really chuffed with the tornado tanks TW used to do. The idea of a tank was so revolutionary! Dry hits and flooding ensued! I tend to stick with my igo-w clone these days and am very happy with it. Always works, micro coil and cotton setup is so easy to maintain (just whack some new cotton in after a dry burn!). Hard to see how it could be much better!

Yeah FT have them for under a fiver. Silly not to pick one up if you've ever been curious about drippers. I find it less faff to squirt a few drops in before having a vape than to endlessly fiddle about with a tank that's not wicking well or flooding, or the rigmarole of cleaning it out to change flavours etc. I always carried a bottle of liquid anyway in case a tank leaked or I just ran out, so it's no hassle to me. When it needs maintenance I just yank the cotton out, dry burn, and thread new cotton through. Maybe give it a rinse if the flavour is totally different, but usually not.

Ah yeah, I see it on FT, comes with drip tip too. Mine came with 2 airholes mind you. But yeah, decent value for $6.

It really does need two airholes for dual coil, but I only run a single anyway. Tempted to pick up a legit one for dual coiling though.

Ah, I've never tried a dual coil setup, I'm also single coil. Actually, come to think of it, that might account for why I don't find the draw on it tight as people mentioned about the IGO-W. I find the draw on it is perfect, not tight at all, kind of like the kayfun with the airflow screw completely removed, which is in fact what I've done on the kayfun. I've not felt the need to drill the holes. Might be different if I try dual coil. What benefit would I find with dual coil? I'm not fussed about vapour, but would I get increased flavour? But at the same time, I don't want to increase throat hit.

I found dual coils good for increasing vapour, and you can run lower wattages as well for liquids that like it. Downsides are: bit fiddly to get each coil the same resistance, and munches battery fairly quickly. Give it a go and see what you think.

Crowoet covered it pretty well. You end up with one hot coil and another luke warm, which is just a waste of battery. It is usually pretty easy, but microcoils can be funny if one coil splits out and raises the resistance when you fit it.

Totally wicked doing everything 25% off for their website launch now. Picked up a pint of mixing supplies for £40, so that's me for another 6 months or so :) I do like the plat ice nic.

So my SVD button is starting to play up, and I'll be damned if I'm going to be caught out and about with a malfunctioning mod. I have my nemmy clone, but my microcoils are mostly 2.1Ohm so no good on a mech.

So: Is there any cool new stuff out in terms of VW mods, or is the SVD still king of the bang for buck market? It's been fantastic for the year I've owned it and survived many thrills and spills, and would have many more had the firing button not started to play up, no doubt.

So what do you guys recommend? Order another from FT for $35 or branch out into unknown territory? Side note: my brother's recently purchased SVD has a horrible spongy firing button, unlike mine's crisp clicky button. Fix, or downgrade?

Get yourself some 0.3mm/28AWG A1 Kanthal Wire or 0.4mm Ribbon - It'll bring the resistance down to a more Mech-Friendly 1.0ish ohm. So long as your batteries are comfortable with it, you'll see a huge difference in warmth, flavour and vapour production.

As for VW devices, I've been using my VTR as a "chuck in the car" device - bombproof build quality, decent range (no idea on the official specs, but mine comfortably powers a 0.6ohm dual coiled dripper at 12W, or my 1.7ohm single coil, rope wick Kraken at 15W). I've cut the atty ring off and bored it out slightly so a tall 22mm atty fits without the extension tube. 2nd hand they can be Picked up for around £40-50

I hear the MVP is of similar quality for less money, but more restricted range for coil resistance.

Otherwise, you're looking at £120+ for the Dicodes Dani or similar, but for that money, I'd be looking at a DNA30 box mod by StiG or SoulVaperBaby.

Very handy, will look into that! So is the provari old hat now? Not that I'm looking to spend that kind of dough

Just ordered my first mod, speaking to a lad at work today who let me have a puff on his provari beast. Flavour and taste was supreme!

Got myself an iTaste SVD kit, x2 18650 batteries, i2 charger and 50ml Squid Ink from kraken. Lovely stuff.

Sounds like a good combo. Which atty do you have on top of all this though? That is a crucial decider in how your vape is.

I think after all this I'm going to get another SVD, because it has been faultless up until now. Wish I could fix the button, but it's seen a hell of a lot of action so I'll forgive it for getting a bit temperamental.

Thanks NirK, legend! You've swayed me, DIY mixing, here I come! :p

Once you find your all day vape, I recommend getting a 25ml measuring cylinder (like a quid or two) for mixing up bigger batches of your regular juices. Good for liquids that need a week or two to steep like vanilla custard.

Since my SVD has started misfiring a couple times a day, I decided to prepare for the worst and got a nice big 1.2ohm coil in my other dripper and stuck that on my nemi clone. Works a treat so I now have an out and about setup and my around the house setup :)

Is it a microcoil? If the coils aren't tight together (you need to heat them on your stove until they glow while squishing them together with tweezers) then the resistance can be much higher. It can be a real pain for exactly that reason when you break the coil while yanking old cotton out and the resistance goes through the roof.

Correst me if I'm wrong but the resistance of the coil does not change whether its a standard coil, a micro coil or a Micro Nano Triceratops coil... The thickness of the wire and how much of it in length you have wrapped between the posts is what defines the OHMs.

With a microcoil you are essentially shorting all of the coils and creating a shorter path for the current to travel, so it lowers the resistance. That's how I understand it anyway.
