Hoping someone here can help me a bit more. I bought this the other day:

http://www.totallywicked-eliquid.co...10-e-nic-compact-starter-kit-2-2-product.html

I am now looking to get a new battery, stock up on some atomisers, and get some larger capacity cartridges.

http://www.liberty-flights.co.uk/product.asp?id=79

If I was to get one of the 900mAh batteries would I need a different type of atomiser? What benefits are there to different types of atomiser, and is there any way to use a tank with my 510, or just a drip system without a tank? If so could someone please point me in the right direction, I am getting very confused about what fits what.

The atomisers on there are all low resistance and it says at the bottom:

We do not recommend using standard cartridges with LR atomizers as they do not tend to keep the atomizer wet enough, if an LR atomizer is not sufficiently wet then it is more likely to burn out. Direct dripping is recommended for LR atomizers.

I think the 1st link you posted is for the titan E-cig? (link doesn't work)

If so, that's a 510 fitting.

The 2nd link, Riva, is a longer lasting battery also a 510 fitting. This can handle low resistance atomisers so it's a better battery.

anything with a 510 fitting can be used, including the tank system.

I found the tank systems ok, but really lacking flavour.

A good match for the riva 510, is either a 2.0 ohm Boge cartomiser, here

http://www.liberty-flights.co.uk/product.asp?id=108

And the dual coil cartomiser, here (they only have the clear ones in stock, still fine)

If you decide to buy from liberty flights, put the code ECR69 in the discount box for 15% off.

the 900mah batteries last longer between charges. one of those fully charged gets me through a full day.

if you decide to order a Riva 510 battery, you'll need the charger if you don't already have it

Thanks, I will take your advice and go for the cartomisers.

I already have a charger that came with the titan starter kit, is that not good enough for the 900mAh batteries? It looks the same but there are no specs on the store page.

Thanks for the code.

I think the charger for the titan is a different spec to the Riva charger.

Even if it's the same one, if you're into vaping for the long haul, it always pays to have spares. ;)

The titan battery (320mAh) charger is 120mA; the Tornado/eGo/Riva (900mAh) battery uses a 420mA charger.

After reading this thread am after a bit of advice on starting up, am a heavy smoker at the min and was thinking of giving this a try, and was wondering what people recommend as a starting up kit.
Had a look around a few sites but kind of got myself confused with the different types, atomisers and batteries etc, and what I would actually need to buy to try this out for a couple of weeks as a substitute.

Anyone else a fan of the liquids from tastyvapor.us? I've used them for about 18 months and find them far superior to all the UK liquid suppliers.

So many suppliers I have never heard of :o noted for future reference

Got all the stuff for my first tentative steps to mixing :)

250ml 100% pure VG (too much I know but it was £4 lol)

DV Apple concentrate (£5.99)
DV Choc-o-mint concentrate (£5.99)
30ml Pure54 nicotine (£9.99)

Clean of cigs for two weeks now, been drinking many times i between and I don't miss normal ciggies a bit. Liberty Flights is a great place to get items.
Personal mixing, I used this and the cinnamon worked great:

Loving the coffee, watermelon and cinnamon atm, got any new flavours to try?
gl hf. Too much SC2 in between :P.

I ordered and somehow forgot to add the charger, going to order one for next week. I suppose using the standard charger is not going to cut it even if I leave it charging all day?

Only asking because I wanted to use the battery this weekend but I don't want to break anything so I need some clarification. I assume it will probably burn the charger out before it's charged the battery?

Admittedly, I don't really know what will happen. I wouldn't advise it, but if I were in the same pickle as you, I'd probably risk it.

I did a bit of searching and the standard charger which is sold on LF:

510 chargers suitable for charging all 510 style batteries either by USB or via the mains via a USB mains adapter. This charger will charger eGo style batteries although it will take longer than the eGo fast charger.

Anyway I took the risk and it charged, it took a while but at least I can use it until the new charger arrives.

Well the 20% flavour suggested by the calculator I used is definitely wrong for DV apple. At a guess 10-12% would be good. It is very perfumey

What I do get from my limited experience is that this home mix has no colour and tastes, well, just clean

The DV range is designed to be used at about 15%. At least that is what the premix comes with. It is the joy of mixing that you can change it to suit your palette.

I bought a whole batch of flavours and am in the process of trying to make a version of RY4 - Im mixing 4 or 5 flavours together, but as a general rule I never add more than 10% of any one flavour in a mix..
Also when mixing you need to leave the mix overnight or 24 hrs before trying it to let the flavour settle, though Im not sure that applies to single flavour mixes

Thinned out the solution with a couple of drops of PG directly into my tank. Tastes much better, actually like apple. Now for the maths, going to thin out the ~4ml left over to 10% flavour while keeping 11% nicotine and the PG/VG mix (80/20) I used...

Also can't get over how clean it tastes, no dodgy colour forming around the base of the tank either. Why do they colour premix?
