nope it didn't sorry, but I followed rip triggers video, was easy peasy, 10 wraps 28g kanthal I got 1.6ohms

First few draws I didn't get anything took a good 20 seconds for it to produce vapor oddly enough then after that, its perfect.

Better than the regular way of making a coil, which he also does on the video which is how I made them before :) my coil looked exactly the same as his when I was done making it

Before with the regular coil build, I was getting the good old crackling sounds (which I love, the more crackle the better its working right?), I was getting that for a half hr or after making it or so because I chain vape a lot, with this chimney coil, snap crackle pop its not fouling for nothing so far, its great.

As above, there are certainly better atties, but I figured you might as well give it a go for next to nothing, and if you like it then you can start a collection of drippers ;)
 
Havent posted here for a while, but i want to pick your brains - currently looking for another tank atty, but totally lost as to what to buy. Now ive had a fair few 2 Kayfun Lites, Rose V2, Taifun GT and GS, loads of gennies Aga's, AC9, RSST's and AGi's but as of yet still not found the one for me...the closest was the Rose V2, but i needed the funds and sold it on, regret it somewhat now but onwards and upwards right.

So with that said, what would you guys suggest, Cotton/Silica prefered as mesh didnt mesh with me (:) ) and in the UK, fastech annoys the crap out of me.

Features, top filling, anytime access to coils even if its full of juice etc, looks fantastic.
 
Just made a regular old coil, my chimney style coil I made in my kayfun just give in, well no it didn't, was working solid and better than a regular coil but I was sucking too hard and the cotton moved outta place blocking the chimney its self :D:p

So just because I cant be bothered messing with it any more tonight made a regular old coil, decided to take a picture for once aswell, also went for a higher ohms tonight, 1.7ohms compaired to 1.4ohms 11 wraps tonight compaired to 9 wraps 28g, I don't like my vapour always scorching hot, I know everyone bangs on about sub ohms etc but... doesn't it just make your vapour like kettle steam?

Came home after work and did the chimney coil in my Kayfun 3.1 clone doohdah.

Looked good but since I coiled it blind with 32 gauge/12 wraps it came out at 1.9ohms but that wasn't a problem considering the mod it was going onto. Coiled and placed onto the posts very easy. I watched trippers video earlier but to be fair and with hindsight I dont think it needs 2 seperate cotton strands as I think doing so has strangled the airflow in mines despite a clear channel through to the air channel.

Wasted my precious Rococo ejuice. I will re-wick it later tonight but I am only doing so for the hell of it as I keep trying to see what the hoohah is with kayfuns!.

I will hopefully update this post with the photographs I did doing it earlier.

For me,thats too much cotton. Notice how you have quite a bit resting on the base next to the channels? I had to move away from that to stop dry hits. Once the chimney is on get a super small/thin screwdriver and push that cotton away from the edges and against the side. Remember cotton expands so it only needs to barely touch the base and make sure there is plenty of free space next to the channels.

People may disagree with what Ive said however that fixed my problems 100% of the time and as long as I stick to that rule it always works. Im about due to change cotton on mine so Ill post a picture.

Edit- Sorry amount of cotton could be ok but keep it away from the edges was more my point

Yeah I did it triggers way and it restricted air a bit because air cant come up around the side of the coil so I just literally placed two cotton strands across touching it either side so there was pleanty of air holes but it went wrong after a few hrs of vaping because It wasn't wrapped round, was sucking hard on my kayfun and the cotton flew up into me chimney :p haha

Yeah I know, but that cotton is expanded, it was about hmm, half the diameter of the coil before I wet it, there its full size and still slides easy in the coil, I was getting problems of it not bringing any juice up with less, but iv never had a dry hit yet on my kayfun even with 20w going through it which is the most my vamo v6 can do, but yeah less is definitely more where cotton is concerned :)
 
So my dad wants for Christmas a better 'vape', what are the top recommendations?

He uses an Aspire BDC? and complains the coils need replacing because the 'hit' has worn off (I'm not a smoker!).

I had done some research and read ones you do yourself are better? (difficult?)

Anyone point me in the direction of a decent site, and recommend what to get for around £50?

Would be greatly appreciated, because I have no idea really what I am looking at and would like a recommendation rather than taking a gamble!

It'll be his Christmas present this year!

By the way, a quick thing iv learnt when making a new coil for a kayfun, like with any coil first few pulls you might just be burning nothing even if the wick is saturated for some reason, no vapour comes out, or even if you've just washed it or something or another.

I just held my kayfun and mod upright, and pressed fire whilst pressing the fire button and blowing really hard on the air hole for a few seconds until I saw vapour clouds flying out of the tip like a chimney, more efficient than pulling till something happens, and it introduced liquid flow a lot quicker :) also it bypassed the first few nasty new coil taste pulls which I always get though I don't know if anybody else gets them

edit: another tip, to drain it easy, though anyone with a kayfun will already know this but I didn't as this is my first. simply have a open bottle top, turn the kayfun upside down, unscrew the tank and drip tip from the base and chimney, and the liquid will flow out. if id of thought of that earlier id of probably saved about 50ml of juice past week that iv had this kayfun! could have got one day of free vaping :p

Thought you Vaper lounge folk was supposed to look after me :P my wallets hurting here :D

Cover the airholes as you do when top filling,unscrew the drip tip and top section and pour it out. Not sure how you could go so wrong you wasted 50ml of liquid? :confused:

Well, the top filling way wasn't working for me because when I was screwing my top section back on, my o ring which I recently found out was naff was leading to liquid flowing out of my air hole all the time and floods, but iv flipped it over now so its sealed, and I just got delivered a bottle yesterday for bottom filling through the filler screw on side of the tank so no leaks now and also it has a much better vacuum and constant liquid flow when bottom filling it now.

And I used to take the top off and try pour it into my spare bottle which has a stupidly small hole on it, so it just went everywhere every time I drained it :p that and first few days I just took it apart in the sink and washed everything away like a nab until I realised how much liquid id used haha. but the way I said about draining it, its a precice drainage just perfectly flows out.

Also, iv used hmm, 48ml of juice today, 15ml more than yesterday, think I need to calm down a bit. only got 20ml left, so if my liquid doesn't come tomorrow im a bit stuffed, will have to use my missus's strawberry 28mg stuff, but ill be on my arse with that. she only has a few drags every hour on a crappy cheap ecig off the market if I put that stuff in here, pwoarh, don't want to think what would happen to me, though I vape cheap liquid my self 1 pound for 10ml, but im on 6mg :p

Buy a higher nic juice so you dont use as much. I know its healthier than smoking but 50ml of juice a day still cant be good for you ;)
 
On a side note,my spectrum order turned up over a week later. Tried the flash steeping method and left it for another 3 days.....ugh. I can taste the vanilla but the custard is lost on me. My 2 fav custards are digbys (eggy) and goose juice (vanilla) and its worlds apart in my humble opinion. Oh well theres 30ml thrown in the bottom drawer!

Me neither dude. I have to kayfun 3.1s and use one for work and one at home. I can get through 8ml (2tanks) a day if I go some but thats 8am to 3 in the morning and I vape at 15-17w so it burns through juice a bit faster. It just dosnt seem possible tbh
