Just received my plume veil and orchid from fast tech, I only ordered it on the 28th of October aswell!!

Surley this was just a one off and they normally deliver quicker than this? Used china post.

I was waiting so long I bought a beyond vape silo and its the best yet, I'll still check these out though.

If you think that's a long time try ordering batteries from there! :p

The Plume Veil is awesome (if its a good clone).

Doesn't surprise me, I was kicked off Safer Vapers on FB because I asked the bloke who made the rose why he wasn't surprised why people clone his stuff when he made them so expensive.

I don't buy clone RBA's but I wouldn't spend £150 on one either.

It was a genuine question and all I got was a torrent on abuse, all spelt incorrectly, so I kindly corrected him.

I saw damian on his youtube channel defending the SV community in regards to it being called toxic but he said it was all banter. Its not and IT IS toxic!

Im level headed enough to see the argument from both sides. People having designs stolen and copied to a tee is kinda wrong and they should call them other names with no print on them if it must continue, however, it allows people with limited funds to share the wealth and indulge in a safer habit than smoking. Im torn on it TBH but to abuse people, like they do in said forum ,is still wrong. No two ways about it and it makes him look worse trying to defend it.

I kinda like the bloke from what Ive seen but its all elitist nonsense the way they carry on.

So my dad wants for Christmas a better 'vape', what are the top recommendations?

He uses an Aspire BDC? and complains the coils need replacing because the 'hit' has worn off (I'm not a smoker!).

I had done some research and read ones you do yourself are better? (difficult?)

Anyone point me in the direction of a decent site, and recommend what to get for around £50?

Would be greatly appreciated, because I have no idea really what I am looking at and would like a recommendation rather than taking a gamble!

It'll be his Christmas present this year!

Thanks all :)

(oh, and decent battery too, he is forever moaning he needs to constantly charge his one :p)

And again, Christmas is fast approaching and I've got no idea where to look and want the best value -- anyone?? :(

I would have said check FastTech but it wont be delivered in time.
Are you looking for a rebuildable tank or dripper, another clearomizer with coil heads?

And what type of mod, mechanical, regulated, box mod etc?

Hi Rick

To be honest, I have no idea. My dad complains that he needs to keep changing the coil? Other than that I don't know anything about them.

He would like a longer battery, and I did read that making your own coil? lasts longer? (not sure on that). Also maybe a go with variable voltage, if that changes the flavour/vape/hit any more than traditional voltage would?

Re tech specs, I've got no clue re mod, mechanical, regulated etc as I'm not a smoker myself I haven't really researched this area, its just for a Christmas present and I've had a look myself but seems you need to know a hell of a lot on the topic - and really I'd just like to buy a good value £50 Christmas present for him! Hence, asking wonderful people of OcUK to help out in Christmas Spirit :D:D :o

I guess an easier, short question would be - if you had £50 what would you buy as the best for that amount of money?

If he is not a vaping enthusiast and his main objective is to stay off the smokes my suggestion would be:

Mod- Eleaf Istick, it is variable wattage (upto 20 watts) and has a built in high capacity battery which takes the battery worry away, it is also very compact and has USB charging. I think they go for ~ £35

Atomizer- If he is willing to build his own coils I would look at either the Eleaf Lemo or a Kayfun clone. If you go the rebuilable route he will also need some 28g Kanthal (for the coil) and organic cotton (for the wick).

Edit: On the bay of e's you can get the Istick for £33 delivered and a Kayfun lite Clone for £17 so bang on the money there, Kanthal and cotton are a couple of quid.

I can only find ones that sell 10 or more kayfuns v4 at a time, I only want one haha! where do I order just one from?

If you cant find a seller who will supply one piece (I thought I did see one or 2 earlier who did) just email a few of the sellers on there saying you want one piece as "a sample" and they will oblige a lot of the time if they think you will order 100 more! ;):p

Good luck mate.

And have you ever asked for a sample and received one for free?

That is pretty much exactly what it is!

Haha. no the Chinese don't operate like that unfortunately, not in my experience anyway. :)

Haha, you know. I might make a fortune off this website might start buying and selling stuff my self :D

Be careful if you do, a friend sold a clone mod, I think it was a GP Paps, on the bay and it got removed and he had a warning for selling counterfeit goods!

That was just one item, he wasn't selling as a store/shop or anything either.

The first run of clones will no doubt be pretty poor imo.

Would the Chinese even have one yet? You could only buy them from Saturday, even next day delivery would only be today.

Haha, iv never sold anything on ebay before, I might start selling stuff local first :p

It can be a 'mare mate, I tried to sell a car on there once and some guy from Poland said he would pay me with Paypal and get it picked up by a 3rd party and all this shady stuff, so I nipped that in the bud and sold it on Pistonheads. :D

Lots of scammers on there so you need to on the ball, ebay favours the buyers in most cases if the claim is legit or not. :(

Oh yeah they could have a clone already, I don't know how they get the original, if its leaked to them buy a reviewer or what, but when it comes to knock offs they are a force to be reckoned with!

Thank you very much :)

So battery is sorted, if I went for the Kayfun Clone what do I need to tell him to do in order build his own? Is it easy?

Sorry, I'd search but I dont know the correct term!

Thanks for your help.

Thanks for your help.

It is easy once you have done it a couple of times, There are lots of video tutorials on youtube for coiling and wicking the Kayfun as it is a wildly popular device. Essentially it involves wrapping the wire around a mandrel (drill bit, precision/jeweller's screwdriver or similar) to make the coil, fixing the 'legs' of the coil in the screws in the atomizer and then putting cotton through the coil to act as the wick.

I am probably making this sound a lot more difficult than it really is as its hard to explain.

You will also need to take into account the resistance of the coil, different resistances can be achieved by varying the number of turns on the coil. This link should help figure that out: http://www.steam-engine.org/coil.asp

As I said Youtube will greatly help as seeing the process makes it seem a lot less daunting. :)

If you have any questions I will try my best to help you out, and I hope you find this some what helpful. :)

Edit: This link may also prove useful regarding building the Kayfun: http://ukvapers.org/Thread-Microcoiling-a-KayFun-Lite

I do have a unused Kayfun here actually, if you trust me your address I would be happy to send it to you, as its Christmas. :)
