Plenty. You can just buy an easy 510 cig-like starter kit, and nicotine-free juice. :)

thx...

i am just not sure what that means!! :)

what is a 510? and the juice is that some kind of refill? i thought you changed the "filter"? or is that just different models?

also where would you recommend I buy them? is on-line best or can i go to the high street?

thx!

can anyone tell me if there is a nicotine free / cigarette style one of these?

2 weeks cold turkey and i need some help!!

If you're struggling maybe just buy a low nic juice just in case it's more than just a psychological craving.

Remember that nicotine by itself isn't bad for you. Sure it's addictive but so is caffeine so unless you want to give up all forms of stimulant regardless of whether they are harmless or not just go with a nic juice.

Nicotine has been given a bad name over the years because it's so associated with cigarettes but it's the carbon monoxide, tar and 4000 other chemical in ciggies that kill you, the nicotine doesn't. If nicotine was harmful, companies like Nicorette wouldn't have passed the clinical tests to use them in their products.

Anyways....

If you're internet literate, visit this site....

http://www.e-cig-reviews.com/

Videos for practically every model available and he'll show you step by step what you need to do. To top it off he has discount codes and links to retailers if/when you decide to buy one.

what is a 510?

A thread size for the atomizer and the most commonly used. In short, if you buy a 510 device there an almost limitless choice of batteries and/or atomizers that will fit them.

All e-cigs use "e-juice". It's a liquid that is mostly Propylene Glycol (and ingredient used in Asthma inhalers) or Vegetable Glycerin (my personal choice) that produces the vapour, then you have a little flavouring and an amount of pure nicotine depending on how strong you like it.

The 'filter' is the cartridge. A foam wall type thing that hold a certain amount of juice to get you through the day.

also where would you recommend I buy them? is on-line best or can i go to the high street?
thx!

Always online, the ones you get in shops are usually cheap Chinese ineffectual ones. See my link above

See the 1st post in this thread for a bit of help navigating the jargon btw.

With that in mind can the OP correct the first one?

e-liquid/juice: this liquid contains nicotine (in varying strengths according to taste), Propylene Glycol "PG" (gives the vapour its "kick", and Vegetable glycerine "VG" (produces thick clouds of vapour), and whatever flavour you choose. You put it in your cartridge/cartomiser/tank and is a consumable item.

VG and PG are alternatives to each other and both do the same 'job' in the e-liquid. You can get e-liquids that have a bit of both in but 99% tend to be either PG or VG.

Yeah, I was trying to explain the difference between the two bases in terms of what a PG juice does compared to a VG juice (or how the mix affects the experience. I've updated it to try to make it clearer.

Any feedback on the OP is welcome btw guys. I don't stay on the cutting edge of what's happening in vaping all the time, so sections that need updating or adding are always appreciated. If you'd like to write pieces of relevant info for new starters just post them up here and I'll add them in. Just try to keep it jargon free and easy to understand.

I did think that's what you might have been trying to say, how about this for clarity

e-liquid/juice: this liquid contains nicotine (in varying strengths according to taste, or none at all if you prefer), and is diluted by a base liquid in the form of Propylene Glycol "PG" or Vegetable glycerine "VG", both are active ingredients that produce the vapour. PG is the most common version and is said to produce a better throat hit than VG, however VG is generally known for producing thicker vapour. Some people are allergic to PG so if you have any adverse effects from using it, try a VG based juice. Lastly, a flavour concentrate gives it flavour (available in everything from different tobacco blends, fruit, baked goods, coffee, or even bacon!). You put e-liquid/juice in your cartridge/cartomiser/tank and is a consumable item.

....could be really pedantic and include PEG-400 too, but I don't actually know anyone who uses PEG based juice.

In addition to the above, also remember that with most cig-likes there are two versions - automatic and manual.

As the name suggests, automatic ones activate the battery when you suck on the cartridge, much like drawing from a real cigarette while manual ones have a button that you hold to fire it up.

Manual are generally preferable as the switch in automatics can be sensitive at times -- firing up when even just waving the device around -- and prone to damage if any stray juice leaks down towards the battery. If you're after that total cigarette physical experience, though, you'll probably want to start with an auto.

Cheers, have added your revised version estebanrey (left out PEG to keep it simple).

I did mention automatic versus manual in the battery section, but have highlighted it to make it clearer.

Love the El-Toro Cigarillos, currently on the Eden, lovelly stuff too. I too mix my own usually, though I'd have to start steeping Cuban tobacco leaves to get any where near Georgio's sublime creations.
Beware though once you have tried it other juices fall by the wayside, :) I've gone through 300ml+ of El-Toro over the last few months.

*Edit. What the hell, I might aswell show off a pic in this here vaping lounge, that I took in May whilst in Mallorca. My Orion V2 nearly needing a refill of El-Toro Eden. :)

Deal done @ £160 inc 4x 18350 bats and a glass tank.

Any tips on using it jmc007?

First off, congratulations, seriously quality bit of kit that'll last for life. :)
I hope you got IMR batteries, b.t.w.? Especially with 18350's. Otherwise they'll drop the voltage underload and you'll be getting less than 3.6v underload instead of 3.8v-4.2v that you'll get with the IMR's. Apparently it doesn't come into effect as much with the bigger 18650's. Any high drain safe chemistry batties, I think AW do the only 18350's, I use the Panasonic CGR18650CH.

The Orion Hints and Tips thread on UKV's will give you plenty to read while you are waiting for it. :)

Also this blog, mainly stuff for the V1 though pretty much all translates to the V2.

Last, though not least, Pailpoes thread on the Vaporwall.com, regarding the boxboard for the Orion. Looking like that is where news of its release will come first.

Cheers mate.

What blow torch do you use to oxidise the mesh?

edit:

"the battery's are UltraFire 18350 1200mAh X4 new still in wrapper"

I do however have 2 AW 18350 - 700MAH - IMR HIGH DRAIN which I use in my lt mini

Right guys i need some advice on a subject which i know is more or less personal preference, so here goes
Been vaping FSUSA RY5 for a couple of months and while i like the flavour and everything, the dark liquid is just killing the atomizers and cartos in less than 5 days of use, so im on the hunt for something similar to that but in the more normal "yellow pee" colour lol, Thing is most websites dont have pictures of the actual bottle contents so you cant see the colour of the juice and this could lead to expensive buying in the long run - So anyone got any suggestions for something RY5'sh, or something sweet but not too sweet (i know its the personal preference thing here). Pre-mixed is what im using at the moment aswell.
