The Walking Dead Season 3 (contains spoilers)

Season 3 first episode. I have not watched it, but if I had, I would have thought it was a pretty darn good opening to the series.

I would also be looking forward to watching the rest with intent, should I have seen it, which I haven't.

OK watched the first episode (via proxy) and although it was a great episode although i have a few questions! At the end of the last episode it was dark, the group were arguing and had split up.

Next it starts at daylight with no further conversation from the night before and everything is fine! Also blondie who ran off and was saved by michone is now ill and we saw michone hood down. When were we introduced to the character and how is blondie ill?

Just seems a lot has happened which has not being explained.

Oh yeah, noob move taking the doctor/old man on a hunting mission :(

Series 3 takes place 6months+ after series 2, does it not?

I'm not a zombie survivor but if I were ________ _______ _______ _____

:p

no mention of this, it just sort of jumps to it. I guess there will be flashbacks explaining what happened - hopefully!

It doesn't explicitly mention how long has passed. But there are two fairly clear indications:

1: One is that they mention "during the winter". Since we know that it wasn't yet winter when we finished the last series, the implication is that a full winter has passed at the very least.

2: Lori's pregnancy has gone from 'not showing' to 'about to drop', indicating that 4-5 months have passed at the very least.

I think it's safe to say that about 5 or 6 months have passed since the end of s2.

oh i agree that time has passed (you couldn't miss the way they put Lorie's bump into the camera) but it made me think i had missed an episode or something as nothing has being explained.

I'm not bothered about the 'bump', but it would have been interesting to do a 'reveal' of hooded girl as oppose to just her appearing without the hood slicing and dicing.

Likewise, but it had to happen, the man was going crazy! :p The build up to his death with him loosing it and trying to take his leader of the group role back from Rick was great and his final episode was superb

Didn't Shane die much earlier in the comic book?

I really enjoyed the power struggle between the two, but always knew that it would be Shane on the losing side.

Not long to go...starts at 10pm on fx iirc.

Got it on sky record so will watch it later when the missus has gone to bed as she doesnt like anything to do with zombies etc...

So come on guys, what did you think? Can we discuss without spoiler tags once it's aired here?

Now it has aired I don't see why you can't discuss it without spoiler tags. Considering the thread title is 'The Walking Dead Season 3 (contains spoilers)', I don't think anyone can be too shocked if it is spoiled for them :p

I personally loved the episode. That one episode was better than most of season 2 combined tbh.
