The Witcher 2 - Thread

Im pretty sure you should have a copy each if that is your intention.

Total Annihilation allowed player numbers that were greater than the number of game CDs (online at least). The same with X-Wing vs TIE Fighter (it had a second MP-only CD in the package).

Those are just the two I can think of off the top of my head.

Anyway, we'll just have to agree to disagree before the thread goes off-topic.

You talk about supporting the developer then you come up with this... ok w/e

I only need to play on one pc at once. I dont have a magical second head :P

I can't log in on Steam on both my PCs at once. It is a drawback for me as I'm doing multitasking and having games downloaded in the background or not logging out from Steam before I log in on another PC or a laptop. LAN parties on your own expense shouldn't be a problem on one licence, from the legal point of view, but I may be mighty wrong on this one. I wouldn't have a moral problem with someone trying a game out on one of the PCs while I play on another.

I wouldn't share the game with anyone in a long-term but the advantages are obvious. Sure, some people will prefer Steam anyway, good for them :)

Games like HoMM and Total War series allow for hot-seat mode but the convenience of having a game on multiple PCs for your own use is a good thing. Not having to log in to a third party client to play a game is another advantage.

All in all, I love Steam. I've got almost a hundred games on it and continue buying them. I hate the concept of DRM though and hope that GOG will continue to succeed in publishing games (not only old classics any more).

According to some reports!

That's not too bad then.

I bet the CPU overclock wouldn't make much of a difference but the game needs a powerful graphics card at max settings.

We've yet to see how well the game's engine scales, it's a brand new thing on the market after all.
