The Witcher 2 - Thread

- no "go there, kill this" missions (not in the main story, at least. There are freelancing missions)
- enemies can attack in groups, so avoid getting surrounded
- great dialogs and directing
- maps are limited by natural things like rocks etc. so you don't feel limited
- decision-consequence in dialogs
- a little more serious than the first part
- no fast travel, walking included
- many decisions influence story
- no "Generic NPC character" names, everyone has a real name
- no annoying "let me point you in a right direction" for better streamlined accessibility
- TPP camera
- first act took ~12 hours to finish

I just pray they are not just trying to push the boundaries with nudity and have made a game as good as the first Witcher.

I suspect there will be a few versions ready to send out as you can guarantee you will get people complaining about it and parents crying. Winds me up tbh when parents buy there games knowing full well that there is 18+ rating on them yet still cry and complain that the game is not suitable for there kids.

Because we all know The Witcher is actually a front for a hooker simulation :p:rolleyes::eek:

Going thru the EE now but im only getting 15-25 fps whilst in the swamp on high settings, tried altering it down to low and checking but no real difference in the fps. ??

Really is a crime that this thread has only reached page 11 with two months to go to a game that could possibly be the sole PC AAA title :/

Hello there :)

Thanks for the link to the video, i realy was not feeling that at all watching the video. The guy didnt have a clue how to play him or the new control system is not very good .

Been a while since i played through witcher 1 but it was so much more fluid with the sword when fighting enemies. I hope they have not dumbed this down for console users as it will be a sad day indeed :(

It's because day to day gamers don't understand games like The Witcher.

"Too many stats, too long, complicated combat systems and spell trees". Console gamers don't understand this

:p

Can't wait myself, looks amazing :D

Well I'm in Chapter III of the first game now, and I can honestly say no other game has ever really had me this torn between choices! I had to go away for a few hours before making a decision about which side to take, and I'm still a bit ****** off about it. Staying Neutral just seemed like a cop-out anyway I suppose.

Well - I'm sold. Platinum version of the first in this series is on its way from Steam - and could be a nice build-up to TW2.

The trailers look pretty good as well!

I've never played any fantasy/D&D style games on the PC.... This may be a nice continuation on from a Zelda addiction I had for a while when younger.

Don't let the first chapter put you off, it seems a bit dull at first but gets SO much better. :)

Damn, I need to get back to working on some personal projects but how am I supposed to get anywhere with them when this is coming out next month.
