The Witcher 2 - Thread

This is the reason i shouldn't trust reviews like oxm mag and others.
They gave me the impression it was a bad game and to give it a wide birth.
Looks good though might give it a go on my first gaming rig.

CD Projekt revealed that The Witcher 2 will utilize SecuROM copy-protection for its retail release, deciding it was the least intrusive way to protect its content from piracy. Though they are aware some gamers will groan at the decision to use SecuROM, CD Projekt noted that the game will allow for 'unlimited installations on an unlimited number of computers' and allow 'play on up to five computers at once.' The game requires an internet connection for the game's initial activation. According to the presentation, this will ensure that The Witcher 2 cannot be played before the game's May 17 release. The Witcher 2 will also be available on digital distribution platforms, including DRM-free on GOG.com. Although the game will include a serial code for activation, users that purchase the game on GOG.com will not require the code to play the game. The GOG.com release will come completely unlocked; however, a code will be included for users.

Hello there :)

Thanks a million for the great link Paul_cz, the finishers and that big monster near end put a smile on my face, cannot wait to get my hands on this game now :D

UltraDad you don't have to say Hello there in every post it could start to annoy people :p

Gibbo used to say " Hi There " in every post and it got damn annoying :(

This does look great, though i a m really struggling through the first one, and am thinking of abandoning it tbh.
I heard a while ago that you can import a save from the first game. Is this true?

Yes you can!

I'd play TW1 as much as possible though because it really turns into an amazing game, it just takes a little bit to get there

Just bought TW1 and downloading it tonight.
Only thing that gets me a little is i can't customize the character much =[.

EDIT: I know this is TW2 thread, but are there any mods i should get for TW1, texture mods or anything?

I would just get Full Combat Rebalance, and in installation option, choose "tweaks and bugfixes" and nothing else. It makes the game a bit better without changing the core.

Very e xcited about this, but never quite finished the first one. Got to late in the final act then lost my saves. Almost tempted to try and pick up the EE from somewhere, but not sure I'd ever find the time to play through.

Can anyone give me any hints for TW1? I am currently stuck with no idea what to do next.
*SPOILER*
I just got done meeting the guy in the mirror who turned out to be the king, and I told Leuvaarden about it and it says I have to wait and see what happens (something like that). I also tried to cure the werewolf by giving Carmen a vest made of some leaves, but that didn't work and now it just says I need to try other werewolf cures, but it doesn't say how to do that or where to go.

So currently I have no quest trackable quests or instructions on what to do :(
