The Witcher 2 - Thread

If it is like the first, double tap a movement key to dodge blows or just generally evade things. If not then you're screwed until I play it! :p

Liberal use of Quen has made it a lot easier, I can run in, do some damage and leg it without getting hurt. In fact, it's possibly a little too easy now :o

Game is absolutely fantastic so far, really enjoying it now that I can avoid getting killed every few minutes. Also, that big beastie was fantastic

QTEs though, why oh why did they think these were a good idea.

If I knew it was going to unlock this early on Steam I'd not have bothered downloading a pirated version. :o

2.3mb/s :/

Getting 600kb/s from Miami.

I wish I had better internet in Aberdeen. 6mb is the best we get here.

Whats wrong with QTE? They worked great in god of war.

Anyone still having problems with key mappings and mouse inversion can simply edit the User.ini in your Documents/Witcher 2/config/user.ini file.
I've swapped my A/W/S/D keys with the Up/Down/Left/Right bindings.

Me and the girlfriend will both be playing this soon but we both have a seperate windows login. Is the user.ini universal or does it only apply to the user login?

Hey guys I'm off for the next 10 days, and need a game to suck me in. Tempted by this, how much of an issue is it if I have not played the 1st one? Fancy a nice up to date good looking game, also struggling to find reviews as it seems early copies were not sent out.

I have everything maxed out excet for ubersampling and its running at a comfortable 45 FPS+ (SLI GTX 560s).

But there seems to be no AA being used, and forcing AA in the Nvidia control panel doesnt work?

Does anyone know if I can turn AA on in this game? I'm up to the monastery bit looking for a way into the back alley .... I'll try to figure it out, or simply use the guide if I get stuck :)

Yay for an included printed guide.

.... been awake for 22 hours excluding just 3 hours of sleepless rest last night, I am defying sleep until I pass out from playing :D

Anyone else having some problems with parry (e) not responding sometimes after using a sign? It's incredibly annoying as it can end up in you losing half your health to a combo while not being able to dodge or move :( Noticed a similar thing with movement not responding unless you let go and repress it for some reason.

Also is it just me or is there no in-game controller key map function? Makes it hard to find out what keys to press to do stuff which just seems unreasonably backwards to me.

The config tool should allow you to enable and disable AA.
