The Witcher 3 Dev: Recommended PC Specs Will Run It At 30FPS, Not 60FPS, Details On Graphics Effects

Innit!!!

I know nothing about the game but that trailer alone has made me want it. I will be getting it as soon as it is released. I have The Witcher 3 on pre-order and with CDPR stating that the DLC will be free for everyone, they just go up in my estimation.

Their graphic artists are absolutely insane, very talented guys.

I'm happy they're pushing the graphical envelope. I've been waiting since 2007 for a game to blow me away visually in the same way that crysis 1 did. Whilst I'm not expecting this game to wow me in the same way, it seems to me as though it will be a significant step up compared to most modern pc games.

I won't be upgrading unless it doesn't run.

i5 + 780 has always produced great looking games at 1440p up to this point. Why should it stop now? Just cause there are higher quality settings available doesn't make the game ugly or unenjoyable at the lower ones.

Well I won't be upgrading until I know how well my rig runs on TW3, even then I will look to upgrade only the cpu and go sli.

I get what you are saying though, and my setup has handled any current game at 1440p quite well thus far, but I fear at some point in the near future I will need to do it. I guess it is a matter of what you feel happy with in terms of fps and visuals.

Probably the best and vaguest trailer I've ever watched! I will happily pay full price for that game right now regardless of what state of completion it's in!

Why is everyone getting excited about a prerendered trailer that shows absolutely no gameplay?

I stopped falling for stuff like that about 15 years ago!

While I agree we have seen some gameplay in previous trailers that does look good, and cd projekt red are probably one of the few, if not only, developers left who deserve the benefit of the doubt.

While I may be setting myself up for disappointment I do believe this game will at the very least not be a buggy, toned down, abomination of a console port that we have become so used too. How good the actual gameplay is we will have to see, the only concerning thing I have seen is that they have not finished the keyboard + mouse controls yet, something that can really affect an otherwise good game.

:) some of us never grow up
If it's by the same devs as the witcher, it will probably be great.

I have bought a lot of games and watched a lot of films because of trailers and been disappointed, so it wouldn't be the first (or the last) but yer, same devs and great pre-rendered trailer with great music makes me want.

Its why we a gamers, we're essentially children in adult form, who get way too excited about playing a 'game' ...and long may it continue :D

This is a 'day one' for without doubt. I think the world looks amazing, so, just the thought of exploring the land gives me goosebumps.

The only thing I hate (and I do mean hate) is Geralt's voice, who's American, Dirty Harry style accent is seriously annoying.

Not sure my PC will play it well with decent visuals, even if capped at 30fps... probably will be PS4 for me.

Not to play the role of idiot but to me anyway, the Witcher 3 doesn't look like the massive graphical advancements its been hyped to be. I look at the Witcher 2, a fantastic looking game and then look at the Witcher 3. I see advancements in shadow tech, tesselation etc. but its not a phenomenal leap not that it bothers me. I wonder if the so called "just 30FPS" on the 770 at Ultra/1080p includes that dynamic hair tech NVIDIA built AND ubersampling enabled at the same time. Then I could justify the requirements being what they are. If its with them off, then I am severely shocked

I have been a big W2 player and completed it twice and for the age, you would think it was a brand new game had you not known of its release date. I can see some nice improvements in the Witcher 3 vids but I imagine it is one of those you need to be playing and as per usual, youtube does kill quality.

Compare it to witcher 1 and witcher 2 of course huge difference. Witcher 3 does look amazing but not a big difference. Still wont be able to play uber though :(

The main thing is it's fully open world like skyrim, and looks better than the witcher 2. This open world ness is a big deal.

Yes, to me it looks better, though not by a massive margin... but (and its a big but) you can go anywhere. There were invisible walls everywhere in W2... its easier to make something look good, when you are so confined as to where you can go.

Christ on a bike! I've only just watched that gameplay video for the first time (been trying to stay away from 'spoiling' it). This looks like Skyrim 3.0 in terms of openworldyness!

Quick question, as I've only ever played Witcher 2 - I know that game was third person only, and this one looks like it too, but will there be an option for first person in Witcher 3? I suspect not given the fighting system in it, but I personally would love the option. First person mode is so much more atmospheric in any game, including Skyrim.
