I installed Skyrim again the other day. Played through the prologue part and thought "dayum this game looks baaaad". lol.
Even on Ultra, the textures are shocking! I always remember it looking far better
Even so, I love the mountainous scenery but as I got to the first village I just felt bored. Not sure if it is because I have done it all already or because I was in the wrong mood for an RPG game.
Will have another crack at it when I feel a bit more in the mood and see how I feel. Straight away, though, the thing that is properly annoying me is the inventory system. Completely forgot it was a big list rather than a grid layout.
So far it has knocked my rose tinted shades right off. Skyrim son, I am much disappoint! lol![]()

Well vanilla Skyrim might be pretty basic by todays standards but get the right mods installed and not only can it look just as good as anything around today (ok, well almost as good) but the gameplay can be massively improved as well. There's a thread somewhere in this forum with a really good guide to modding.
To be honest Bethesda need to up their game for the next one.
Just got to Ardvik to get the Anvil in the Armourer quest, killed the Troll, now all I do is jump about. Can't even access any of the menus. Anyone else experienced this.
Why give away what happens in the quest?!
Agree with TW3 being the benchmark. This is the type of RPG I've always dreamt of playing! Wish they'd made the inventory/crafting a bit different but apart from that it's amazing.
I thought my Skyrim looked amazing with ENB and all the mods but TW3 just blows it away.
Agreed! I love the Baldur's Gate saga, and it's still my favourite; but any future RPG doesn't come close to the Witcher 3 is going to feel like a let down.
Any future RPG of this genre, certainly.
I used to play a lot of BG2 and NWN - they were great too but they are in a different vein. I'd really like to see another D&D style RPG come out. Live combat Skyrim/TW3 style is great fun but D&D rules are awesome too. Torchlight 2 was a bit too much Hack & Slash (also why I didn't touch Diablo 3).
Games like TW3 and DAI have raised the bar
Keep an eye out for the Enhanced edition(or whatever its called). It looks like it will make an already very good game great. The closest game to those classics lately for me is Divinity Original Sin.
It's insulting to The Witcher to mention it in the same breath as DA:I!
So yea, don't be that fool who tries to slap anything else down around the game you enjoy. Claiming others opinions are wrong.
