The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

Don't think I have, hence the 'really should go back and do it' :) managed to somehow complete the main quest (which I wasn't intending to do..) - but I can go back a few saves and take it from there :)

Hey hey hey.. you said "some of the DLC stuff I missed".. :p

That's way too relative to be concrete!!

I finally finished the main quest of this ****ing game the other day, took me around 2 years of on and off play. With the HD Reworked mod it is probably the most beautiful game I have ever seen and playing at 4k on an OLED was pretty jawdropping. https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/1021/

However it's a loooong game and the main problem is that the cutscenes are just too wordy. I love to read, I am a man of patience, but there were so many pointless lines of dialogue and so many "people saying nothing for long moments" that it really started to grate on my nerves by halfway through the game and I honestly think they could have cut a lot of it out without sacrificing anything significant. It was the most epic slog of a game I have ever played. :D

Still, the story was overall amazing with some enthralling and dark quests, especially in Velen. The voice acting was exemplary and it's quite possible that there will never be another game crafted with so much love and detail. I wish I had played it years ago when I would have more time to explore every nook and cranny, but now I have other games and hobbies competing for my time and now generally only do main quest lines with the exception of Skyrim.

I am not sure I can stomach playing any more to see the expansion quests, so will likely uninstall it and wave goodbye to this gaming chapter of my life. I want to play through RDR2 and I feel it's going to be similar.

If you don't like cutscreens and dialogue you could have just pressed the spacebar to skip it !

By the way, the 2 DLC are excellent and should not be missed

Also the next-gen remaster is coming out in November (free download) which in addition to updated graphics adds raytracing and shorter load times etc

This doesn't square.
But I am glad you enjoyed it overall. Personally I was savouring every dialogue and interaction.
And the expansions are brilliant, both of them. Take a break if you need to, but make sure to play them eventually.

Of course I skipped some but the point still remains. I will take a long break before I consider any DLC as I have certainly reached Witcher saturation point.

It certainly does square if you don't intentionally cut off the part where I explained things further. :p

started the game a few times but never stuck with it through to the end. Just find some stuff about the game to be pretty avg or poor really. Combat kinda sucks, especially after playing more action oriented games like elden ring. There's so much dialogue as well, just get bored of some of it

maybe give it a last try once the remaster is out

Just saw the notification for the “next gen” update. I have only recently started to really enjoy this game so the timing of the release is quite good for me. Hopefully I’ll not complete it before so can enjoy the updated graphics etc.

Will install it when it comes out to see what’s what, but not sure I am ready for another playthrough just yet. But maybe sometime next year.

Surprised there has been no teasers/trailers to show the new visuals. Personally I found the game zzzzzzzzzzz but want to see how it looks with RT.
