I admit is can be a bit of a pain geting all those ? around the Skellige islands, but last playthrough I just planned a route around, swapping boats and did them all in a couple of hours. Worth it for the amount of money to be made

I actually can't believe that in May this game will be 10 years old! Especially when you compare it to new games like Stalker 2

Ahead of its time, certainly in regards to its storytelling and varied and interesting side quests, not to mention the excellent DLC, and has only got better with the remaster, and now with this great looking new texture mod.

Can I ask outside of DLSS/FSR, RT and HDR is there any other difference between DX12 and DX11 mode? DX11 mode runs way better but missing out on HDR does suck

I tried the HalkHogan HD Texture pack, all 12GB.

My framerate died. It needs more than 16GB RAM so in Novigrad, my RAM gets filled up and then framerate goes into 40s. Oh well, textures already look good in the base enhanced version.

Why 'should' he have disabled displaying them?
Because the exploration feels more natural and fun when you stumble upon things by exploring instead of running from marker to marker like in ubisoft game, and it lets you focus more on actual sidequests.

I don't totally disagree but at the same time, that can result in a lot of fruitless exploration which can contribute to burnout on an already long game.
Some kind of middle ground would be nice but I don't know what that is.

Nothing has really progressed in gaming since 2015.

Animation has. Facial animations in particular have come a long way. I've been playing a lot of games from the early PS4/Xbox One era lately on Deck, and that's the one thing that jumps out. But overall there is surprisingly little difference on low-end hardware. In fact, the older titles tend to look as good and perform better...
