The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

And with that, the adventure is over.

Blood and Wine alone took me longer than the entire Witcher 2 did, and it was consistently higher quality than anything else on the market. Every quest, every piece of dialogue enjoyable, well written and designed. How does CDP create two expansions of this level of quality and length in a year, I have no idea.

This is how things had ended:

Dettlaff had to die, by way of Regis's teeth..Syanna survived and reconciled with Annarietta..Geralt got a medal in addition to 5K and a vineyard, which is nice :). Regis had to leave Toussaint, but not before drinking with Geralt one last time...and Finally, Geralt went home to find.. Yennefer there, waiting.

Regis's
"I believe we deserve a bit of a rest" and Geralt's "that we do..", after which he looks at us...
..one of the most impactful, memorable moments.

I have a feeling we will see Geralt again one day, and I don't mean just in Gwent.
All in all, I couldn't have asked for better ending.

What a complete, total masterpiece this game/experience/world is. Even if I did use a couple mods to make it even more enjoyable for me :)

Few last postcards from Beauclair (no spoilers)

I will miss this world. Hopefully we will get to go back one day, hopefully after Cyberpunk :)

Kinda wish people would stop recommending CDKeys and similar sites, you never know where your money goes with these resellers.

I would have thought if you have all the dlc on steam they would upgrade it to GOTY edition, but you have to pay £35? :(

If you already own DLCs then you already have GOTY edition.

Because some people want to pay the lowest price available and don't have a lot of spare money to just buy off any site.

Nothing wrong with Cdkeys at all if all you want is a game as cheap as possible

Yeah I'd like to know the devs get my money but if it's double the price on Steam for example I'll avoid it

I understand the desire to pay less, but you can always wait for a sale, or at worst, pirate and and then buy it when on sale later (if you really can't afford normal price). Even this is probably preferable to buying from resellers, because at least this way there is a guarantee the dev actually gets the money. With resellers...not so much.

Pirate? lol

99% of pirates will NEVER buy the game let alone care if devs get money.
If they had morals they wouldn't pirate a game at all imo

You are wrong, things are not as black and white, many pirates actually do buy stuff afterwards. Read this great PC Gamer article:
http://www.pcgamer.com/the-state-of-pc-piracy-in-2016/

Plus, I wasn't actually talking about some generic pirates, I was talking about people on this forum, whom I trust actually care about games and devs getting paid for developing them.

So just buy the game or like you say wait for a sale

No matter what spin you put on it pirating a game its illegal.

Im sure these devs expect the hype of a new release to get them sales and sales at close to the rrp....not for a pirate to get it day 1 and pay £15 a few months later to make them fell better about it.

That is taking money the devs deserve and you got the game like fair players had to pay out.

I am not disputing that piratting is illegal. But if you buy a game and money goes to scammers instead of devs, then what you are doing is actually worse than pirating. And with reseller sites you never know if the keys are obtained via scams with credit cards or not. Hence it being better to get the game via legit stores.

Right, thanks this looks like some good tips to follow. :)

Also, download immersivecam:

immersivehud (it is in the list):

http://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/1951/?

I set the camera as in the screens I posted above, it is great to have that customization.
I also enjoyed sensible map borders mod, makes border exploration bit more pleasant.

I just started Blood and Wine and I have a question, since I'm already capped at the sword skills I'm using at level 41, where am I supposed to put the extra points from leveling?

Mutations require a lot of points, do the quest for them as soon as possible, after you get the letter.

Have I ballsed something up? I seem to have played the game in the wrong order and got totally lost with the plot:

Spoilers!

I managed to find my way onto Skellige long before I think I should have done, did the quest with the mask and the mage and Ciri teleporting away, then ended up on a mountain with a boat and the scene with Yennifer. Now the game has taken me back to the find Dandelion quest to find where Ciri went. I seem to have totally missed the whole gang scene in the city having just found Whoreson Junior and killed him and have no real idea who the king on the boat is. Might need a second play through to figure it out in the rigbht order.

On my second playthrough I also went to Skellige before doing all the stuff in Novigrad. Didn't notice anything not making sense ? Just went find Triss and did stuff with her, found Junior and all that. Met Radovid with Roche etc.

How good is this for a casual RPG player? I get the feeling it's a little bit too hardcore for me...

It is action adventure RPG. It has mechanics much deeper than casual shooters like Uncharted, but it is a farcry from hardcore classic RPGs like Pillars of Eternity or other classic 2D RPGs.

If you are not dumb and are willing to learn its mechanics, you should be able to enjoy it perfectly well. And it can serve as a gateway to more amazing RPGs like Vampire Bloodlines, Fallout New Vegas..

Whilst I agree, it is a bloody challenge getting through VTMB nowadays!

Huh? Just install base version of Wesp's unnoficial patch and it runs fine.
Not sure what you mean by challenge otherwise. The game is also not suprhardcore or anything. Very similar to Witcher 3 in style (and both happen to belong among the best games ever made, somehow).
Graphically it still looks pretty good, Source engine has that timeless look about it. Jeannette looks as hot today as she did back in 2004 :)

hey there :p

Just finished the goty edition, great game I must say but one things bugging me about the ending, cant find anything on google so asking if anyone knows here:

Seems from what I've read I've got the "good ending" detlaff is dead, syanna lived - so my question is this - what happens to syanna after the award ceremony? Cant imagine a hug from the duchess being deemed punishment for getting half the town killed, bumping off 4 important knights & plotting to murder her sister....

Yeah I mean just because they finally forgive each other doesn't mean Syanna won't spend some time in prison, or house arrest or something.

So bloomy! I must say I prefer the vanilla :)
But for mods be sure to get Immersive Cam (and its submods like Immersive motion if yo play on gamepads, alternative horse control, meditation) and Immersive HUD with Tweak.

Finally got it how I want it lol added a few more mods, disabled a setting in the reshade which made it less sharp and a bit washed out and adjusted the gamma a tad, this is how I'm keeping it and now time to think about actually playing it to see what all the fuss is about

heres a quick vid :D

disable that HUD ;)

There are extensive HUD customization options in the menu, make sure to tune it to your preference. And once again, I gotta recommend immersiveCam and immersiveHUD, game looks better with camera closer to Geralt.

just installed immersive cam,i quite like it although I havnt messed around with the settings,i just clicked on the immersive option in all the different camera options,im not sure if I should enable the version section though?

I like having the map etc but I have shrunk it all down so its less obtrusive if that's the right word lol :D

I customize the camera closer to Geralt as can be seen on this vid I uploaded
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R8oVql0rXes

Feels more immersive. When sprinting I have it on maximum zoom. For Witcher sense I have the zoom disabled, as well as the fish eye effect. And I recommend disabling autocentering camera, it can be annoying. But just experiment and find what works best for you.

Seriously need to get back into this, had it since release put 50 hours in and got to skellige. Haven't played for so long so will start again. Any very simple mods to install from Nexus, I already have the HD texture one.

I will recommend what I always recommend - Immersive Cam with its submods, Immersive HUD with a tweak, Sensible map borders. And make sure to disable point of interest markers on the map, and enable alternative movement response (both in menu).

Finished Heart of Stone last night. Absolutely loved it. The whole premise was excellent and I really enjoyed all the characters. Felt like Olgierd could really be Geralt's mate and hope to see him again in future Witcher games. The quests were all original enough and the ending well done. Gets a 9/10 from me.

Started with Blood and Wine last this morning and looking forward very much to it. The French knights made me LOL a few time already.

Be sad to leave this universe behind once I'm done with B&W.

Just savour it. I took 58 hours to get through Blood and Wine. I did not want it to end :)

Well on those positive comments I've bought it...

just make sure to setup the game to run at 60fps, enable in options "alternative movement response" and enable "disable fish eye effect" (so it will disable it). Also choose proper difficulty, I would recommend Blood and Broken bones or deatch march, if you want challenge. Make sure to use all the tools available in combat - signs, dodge, riposte, parry, bombs, potions... And if you want to modify camera distance etc, there is a great mode Immersive Cam. Oh and once you leave White Orchard and get to Vizima castle, make sure to disable "point of interest markers on minimap". Game is much more enjoyable that way.
