So hard to get hyped about this. Season 2 was an improvement over 1 but it can't be amazing otherwise he wouldn't have bailed.

You take that back. 2 was soooOoOoOo bad compared to 1

It went from bemusing episodic nonsense - it had identity - to super average, generic meh-ness.

I much preferred that short spin off series to ‘series 2’.

It'll be nice to see The Witcher being the primary side character in the show though.

Have you never played a tabletop RPG?
Bards' songs are meant to be utter crap, and if their singing isn't bad enough to get the local militia chasing them then they aren't doing it right!!

Actually though most of the first episode was okay (and a bit like the first episodes of series 1) but of course then they just have to come up with a plot that involves Yen and Ciri going off on their own so they can do the whole Strong Independant Women thing again with Cavill getting less screen time as a result.

Even when they are all together its made very clear how morally and intellectually superior the 2 women are to Geralt.

No wonder he jumped ship.

I thought the first episode was ok.

Knowing Cavill is done makes watching it a little sour.

I can see why he left. It seemed cheap and poorly written. Struggled through the first two.
