The Witcher series (Netflix)

a proper monster of the week with only a witcher travelling around on his own would have been better than this crap

imagine being a guest camero character in your own show , maybe cavil just isn't available for filming because hes too busy building pcs and gaming

Actually though most of the first episode was okay (and a bit like the first episodes of series 1) but of course then they just have to come up with a plot that involves Yen and Ciri going off on their own so they can do the whole Strong Independant Women thing again with Cavill getting less screen time as a result.

Even when they are all together its made very clear how morally and intellectually superior the 2 women are to Geralt.

No wonder he jumped ship.

You will love Episode 4 if you haven't already seen it.

Although the series only loosely follows certain storylines and specific scenes, if you'd read the books, you'd know that Geralt isn't always the main focus and a lot of time is spent on Ciri and Yenefer's journey.
You might also be annoyed to find out that they're both a fair bit more badass than in the show.

Enjoyed it so far, particularly the final episode. Was annoyed to learn this season is in two parts so they have done something right with me wanting to see more.

I will echo some issues which have persisted throughout like casting, set designs / props etc looking cheap. Probably post production stuff like the lighting in certain areas like the prison cell scene just didn’t look right. The American accent elf who got murdered was just plain bad in everything.

Edit: Googling cast it is Robbie Amell. Has to be one of the worst performances I’ve noticed on tv.

Why would you rewrite something that's already popular. Seems like making hard work for yourself.

This is the rallying cry of virtually all "book" fans once TV/Film buys the filming rights to their favourite book and what's most annoying is that, the people who are re-writing book material which has created a huge fan base and sold millions, I think genuinely believe that they're better at writing 99.999999999% of the time.

What about that 'Scottish' Dwarf's accent? Absolutely terrible. Like the mother in one of those new Black Mirror episodes, their Scottish accent is 60% Irish.

There's a few spots where the special effects looked dodgy and people were very obviously green screened but overall I enjoyed it. Felt a lot stronger than season 2.

That said, I barely touched the first game and never read the books so I don't really give a toss if it's an accurate adaptation or not as long as it's an enjoyable one.

Just finished episode S3E5, can anyone who has read the books tell me if Geralts character follows the same path as this season? Secondly does slay that beast on the boat too? Lastly is the conclave the same as in the books.

Geralt seems to have gone really soft and his character seems very different to what I watched on season 1. Having watched all 5 episodes this is the worst season by far, story seems to jump all over the place.
