The Witness out tomorrow(reviews in)

A developer being independent doesn't make them lesser than somebody else.

It has every bit the polish of a AAA game and it's apparently good for 30-50 hours to beat(though not necessarily complete ;) ). If Portal 2 and The Talos Principle can be full priced games and justify it, there's zero reason why this can't also. In fact, it's *less* than 'traditional' full price.

I don't think I phrased that correctly, I meant that being independent I normally even more inclined to pay more for their efforts but this seems a little steep. Probably nab this when it's under £20 which already seems close with some key sites.

Been looking forward to this game for a long while. Such an insightful developer too, I learnt a lot from him.

WARNING SPOILER:
Everybody dies in the end.
Just kidding :) no idea, heh!
No, really, you're already dead.

I really dont understand. This game is much larger and more polished than your normal indie game, and you say you're already willing to spend more for indie games than other games, yet you find this one too steep?

I'm liking the look of this, my kind of game!

Hope it works ok with my largely disappointing steam link and controller. Looks like it could be a good chill out game to play on the smaller tv in the bedroom when Mrs Punt wants the big TV and I can't be arsed to sit at my desk.

Oh no :( how has the link been largely disappointing mate? I havent wanted the cintroller at all but have nothing but good things to say about the link!

Admittedly I haven't given it much time but the two games I tried both locked up. Which means going to the pc to sort, which is attached to a monitor that's shared with my wife's pc and she's almost always working on it. Not really fair disturbing her work so I can play a game. It would be better (for me) if I could start up the link and it will put my steam client into big picture without me having to go to the pc and some sort of taskkill for when there is a lock up. Maybe it already does and I haven't figured it out?? :)

The way mine works is as long as the pc is on with steam running, turn the link on and click connect and big picture mode opens up on my tv with the link attached! Are you on a wired network too?

can anyone confirm if this has full 360 controller support for me to play via steam link? i imagine it does but the store page says partial support, maybe it has a launcher?

Yep, wired. It's more of a stability issuer rather than performance. I have decided to give it a proper go tonight on some slower paced games in the hope I can play this Witness game on it :)

Loving it so far - it's very much in the vein of Talos Principle, but just seems more "open world".

The graphics are gorgeous, perhaps they look better when stood still than opposed to moving around, but they are very pretty.
