The Witness out tomorrow(reviews in)

Is it story driven like Talos Principle/Portal? I'm also having trouble getting around the fact it costs £30 but if it really is as good as I am hearing maybe it's worth a look.

The story is there to discover, but it's not laid out in front of you. There's no directed 'narrative'. You will have to put things together yourself.

Yep, wired. It's more of a stability issuer rather than performance. I have decided to give it a proper go tonight on some slower paced games in the hope I can play this Witness game on it :)

Got this game last night and set to work on my steam link. well I got the link working ok last night, seems to be an issue with the intel encoding so I set it to nvidia and all is well, sort of... the steam controller is a faff! Ok in other games but need a right stick for the puzzles. Any one playing this with a 360 controller?

I thought the steam controller was highly configurable?

Also, listening to the Bombcast now, the guys are very enthusiastic about this game, so definitely going to buy this.

BUT.

It sounds like this will have VR support... I might hold off on this until that is all in place, because I think this type of game may be amazing in VR.

It is but for this game I couldn't get it to work how I wanted, no matter how I set it up, the control in the mazes was too slow and upping the 2d speed ingame made it too twitchy.

Hang on... Just been reading the Link natively supports my PS4 controller. This could be problem solved?? :)

Finally got this working the way I want and HOLY CRAP!, it's a good game! Had me transfixed for about four hours last night. Was difficult to put it down but needed sleep.

It's been a long time since a game has grabbed me like this :)

Ended up getting this yesterday. It's not a game I'd normally pay £30 for but I hope to get my moneys worth from it.

Really it's just to distract me until next Friday when I can play Xcom 2 Deluxe Edition.

I purchased this from humble store as it meant my children could also have it (DRM free) and enjoying it. There are a few wtf moments - when you do the second hedge maze that is very much one of those. For those wondering what it is like. Well I am in the early stages but you have to unlock puzzles, you have to work out the rules of those puzzles and as you do you will then be presented with ever harder variants till it then puts you into a new set of rules. It may also reference old rules later on.

It's incredibly clever and thus far I have found it hugely rewarding. I'd recommend it for people who like puzzle games, I didn't really like Braid that much but I did enjoy World of Goo so you may get i'm not a huge puzzle game but I like the satisfaction of solving puzzles :)

Was just thinking about this. Forgot it came out this year but it wasn't an easy one for me to play at release due to us having a newborn I couldn't dedicate the time to it that it requires to remember puzzles etc to progress. So thinking about restarting now! It's fantastic. Some of the solutions genuinely blew me away

Yeah, I got blown away just by how simple some of them are after spending a good few minutes solving some.

Then you realise some of the environment ones and you just wonder how someone thinks these up lol.

I've been put off by many people just saying it is 80% mazes... I hate mazes :p

I love this type of stuff, The Talos Principle is in my top 5 games ever but the price of this game always put me off and I've never seen it in a sale.
