The world famous all-nighter thread. Please come on in...

Stop fighting and getting all emotional ladies.

We're all hardcore veterans here. Play nice.

I'm half way into my script and I've hit a dead end again. Yay! \o/

Kris = Gill Grissom!

:D

You hear/see the accident at the end of my road yesterday? It was in the middle of the afternoon.

I got told about it by a mate who lives right next to it.

Looked pretty bad, I can't see how they managed it though? Takes some effort to take that corner that wide.

Yeah, I was sitting at my desk, heard a screech and a kind of boom. Thought I'd look out the front windows of the house, and someone parked their car into the place on the corner, at speed.

Best guesses are they either were going right, nailed it and got it wrong, or there was a kid or something that stepped out on their side, they swerved and didn't brake.

Stupidly I didn't rush off outside with the camera, take photos and sell it to the local paper. :p

I heard a smash last night like someone put a window through in my house.

Opened my bedroom window for a bit to see if I could see or hear anything, and in the distance I heard two sorta gun shot sounds, both had some sort of scream before and complete silence after... lol - I think we live in the ghetto of Bournemouth.

Once again, the notorious all-nighter is about to begin for students all around the country.

I've stocked up on Pro plus, got a pack of lucozade tablets, pack of maryland cookies and a stash of redbull.

Anyone else joining me?

This thread is open for anyone working the night away to drop in and share some motivation or for a quick break during your work!

Subject for tonights all nighter is...

Personal Research Project for my dissertation. - about 3000 words in total, got about 500 done so far.

"A study into how reliable the forensic analysis and comparison of fibre evidence can be when used in criminal convictions."

Kris.
Is there a Claire on your course?

i go to bournemouth Uni too

Right.......about 3K words left of my dissertation - not too bad really.

Hopefully finish all the 'wordy' parts today, just leaves diagrams and illustrations (not many) for tomorrow along with some graphs and calculations.

Get a 2nd check of the finished article on Monday, refine, print and bind on Tuesday, hand in on Wednesday.

Sorted :p

Irritated I couldn't simulate it properly though, as the lecturer really wanted to see it - unfortunately it's outside the realms of what the software is capable of, which is a shame.

Still, that's going in the writeup as well :)

I'm not meaning to gloat but dissertation wise I have finished, formatted, printed, bound and handed in :D

I took 10 minutes to enjoy my creation & now it's back to the grind of further coursework- only 1 essay and 3 design projects to go! :p

Yeah I'm sure theres a couple actually.

Claire B is the only one that rings a bell though. Does she do forensics?

yeah, forensics, shes in her final year too, cant remember her last name though

well, good luck with dissertation, im on my placement so i dont have to worry about that for a few months more :p

I'm in my 2nd year, about to start my 3rd. :p

I'm doing my dissertation proposal, we do it in our 2nd year.

:(

I've got a presentation to do for Monday, I don't want to do it though?
I'm feeling like I don't care about my work anymore, I just want to get out of it all. Motivation has dropped to zero.

I can't kick myself, or find anyone to kick me into doing anything.

Dont worry, it was just me finishing off my evening of terrorism on Chavs.

The gun is back in the cupboard now ;)

Same here. I've got to a point with my game where I keep getting stupid errors which Java doesn't help with and I just want to give up.

I think I will, I mean I have the main points they want to be done, being done. So long as I write up in my report why I didn't do it fully (poor time management), I won't get docked a huge amount of marks.

Now to comment my code, write the report and draw up a presentation...that can all be done tomorrow as I'm tired.

If I kept on working on the game tomorrow I may be able to get done by Sunday night. But then I lose Monday due to a job interview and have to get in to uni on Tues for 12...which means I don't get the report or presentation done...and I can't stand allnighters on javacode, I just get annoyed with it and can't think how to fix stuff.

what course you doin?

Computing....or if you want to be picky...Computing Framework.

Basically general computing, rather a naff course really to be honest...but I met my girlfriend via it so can't complain (she's the friend of someone on the course, she isn't at uni). :D
